We will be showing content on Economic Growth and GDP. For starters Economic Growth is known as an increase in the amount of goods and services produced per head of the population over a period of time. GDP is short for Gross Domestic Product. We will also be showing the relation between the two and how they work in the real world.

VIDEO #1: Explaining Economic Growth

In this video the narrator goes over the basics of how economic growth works. This video is great for explaining the concept to new learners because it relates the economy to other more simple things. This way the viewer can get a better idea of how it works. The video also shows the benefits of economic growth and why people want to see the economy grow. For example, politicians want to see the economy grow and work towards achieving greater employment, stable prices, and balance between imported and exported goods.

VIDEO #2: What is GDP?

For this video the narrator teaches about what GDP is and how it works. The way that he does this is by using funny and easy to remember names. For example he makes up a countries name and pretends that you want to move there. Then he says you probably want to know what the countries economy is like. So the best way to know a countries economic standing is by its GDP. This is how he gets the viewer interested in gross domestic product. He also explains its relevance to society and the economy by showing what GDP involves. I would recommend this video to someone who is just learning the basics of GDP.

VIDEO #3: Canada's State of GDP

The main point that this video is touching upon is the shrinkage in Canada's GDP. A news anchor is telling the audience that it was predicted by economists that Canada's GDP would not fair well but that it is actually even worst then what was expected. Keeping in mind that this video is from May 2015, I find this to be very interesting information. Prior to watching this I had always assumed that Canada's GDP was doing very well and on the up and up. It shocked me to find out that even in a very developed country such as Canada we have plenty of economic problems

This website is from Statistics Canada and is very thorough. It explains GDP in a more advanced way while still using terminology that most Canadian citizens should be able to understand. There are different forms of GDP described on this website such as, GDP by income and expenditure, and GDP by industry. One of the pieces of information that we really take away from this website is the three methods of GDP calculation. By income, by expenditures, and by value added.

Website #2: GDP Growth Rate in Canada

The website that we used for this post is from Trading Economics. This site gives plenty of information on Canada's GDP. It shows the current state of Canada's GDP along with past years. There are charts that can clearly show where the GDP was and how it changed throughout time. The site also shows quarter by quarter what was affecting the GDP and how Canadian citizens were affected. An interesting part of this site is that it actually breaks down all different things that GDP came from such as construction, public administration, and agriculture.

This is an article written by the Huffington Post that details Canada's recent economic growth. The article is loaded with all kinds of facts and opinions from economic experts on what they think on the quickened pace of growth. A really interesting fact that we learned from this article was that in January 2017 alone, Canada's economic growth expanded 0.6%. This may sound like a small number but when looking at all the different sources of growth within that number it is massive. Especially in such a short time. This is good news for Canada
