The teacher writes out a sentence and the other students have to guide the student in the hot seat so that he can say that sentence. If they try to give the general idea it will be too difficult; they have to approach as 'first word, second word, third word' etc. They can't use Arabic, their hands or any words from the sentence. Another version is that there is a picture on the board and the student has two minutes to find out as much as possible about what's in it by asking questions that have 'yes/no' answers. I give eight to ten of these. After they've had time to think about answers for themselves (they don't have to write anything) they can mingle and ask other sts what they put for number one, number four etc. After the mingle they all sit down and the teacher says to the group, 'What can you tell me about Ahmed'? (You might have to gesture to which Ahmed you're talking about :-/). And rinse and repeat for maybe half a dozen sts.
