1. Because I am so into languages, I really like English, and the fact of being able to teach it seems amazing for me, besides I want to contribute to the deconstruction of wrong ideas about English learning, such as "it is just for some people, not everyone can learn it" I want to help to change that kind of thoughts.

2. That teachers were kind superheroes, that they were able to change a lot of things, and indeed they have a lot of influence, but it is not like if being a teacher just involve preparing and teaching in class because it goes beyond and at the beginning I ignored all those things.

3. They have been changing or completely disappear, for example, I do not think teachers are superheroes anymore, and I don't think teaching English is just about attitude and good practices because it involves theories, models, context analysis, reflection, etc. I have been changing ideas such as being a good teacher today means that you're gonna be a good teacher almost always for clarities like teachers have to constantly reinvent themselves.es.

1) For several reasons, one is because it is the best way to transcend people with teaching. Nothing is more satisfying than watching someone grow, build and develop. So, it also helps to change or improve society. Forming children with opinion and critical thinking. And also, because it is what I love and want to be, and I feel that it is the most important job since we will be the one who educates future citizens.

2) I entered college with the idea that there was going to be a big focus on English, but when I entered I realized that it focuses more on teaching us how to be a good teacher with courses as educación y pedagogía, roles del maestro, neurodesarrollo and more.

3) That idea was clarified, it was the opposite of how I thought and I was able to better understand things and what was being done.

Why did you decide to major in language teaching?
Because I think that educating people can help transform their lives and through language teaching people can aspire to better job opportunities, can communicate with other cultures and enjoy a more globalized world.

I also feel that I enjoy sharing knowledge in languages and I feel satisfied when a person learns and tests her abilities and loses fear to express in another language

Why ideas did you bring with you when entering your major?
I entered thinking that the degree would be very focused on learning English. That the pedagogical part would be approached superficially and because of knowing English it would be easy for me and my performance would be very high. I also thought that in the degree they would teach us, just to transmit what we know about English and nothing else.

What have happened to those while in the U?
All these ideas have been falling since the first semester, I realized the different alternatives that make up teaching, and how relevant it is to reflect on pedagogy, the fact of going beyond transmitting knowledge and deconstructing all those previous ideas of what it is to teach.

I decided to study this major because studying languages and knowing how to teach them gives me a better understanding of the cultures of the world, also, everything that involves teaching in a classroom by the teacher has always attracted my attention because I always saw my teachers as a mysterious figure that I considered that I had to discover for myself.

2. My ideas were very limited, I believed that the English teacher only studied the language and dedicated himself to it, but I did not take into account the roles, the models he/she implemented in a class, the types of students he/she faced and what is his/her position in the Colombian context.

3. My ideas changed, and I have been molding them to give them my approach and meaning in terms of teaching English. I have been building new concepts with the help of teachers and my classmates, which the English teacher must explore from different academic perspectives.

R/= I decided to choose language teaching because not only do I like English, but because I like to teach others things they don't know, I feel very happy and excited when I see the happy face of a student who manages to learn new things, and by teaching them English, I can show them that there are not only new things to know, but also a world to see, opportunities to take, and challenges to take on.

2. R/= These ideas have changed, now I know that the university rather than train us to become language teachers, wants to train us as good teachers, upright, conscious, critical, creative, and analytical. Apart from this, now I know that in order to be a university professor I must do a postgraduate degree, so I will have to update my ideas, and if I want to be a university professor, I must do a postgraduate degree.

1- From a very young age, I have been attracted to languages, their culture, and that new world that they offered me, therefore, I knew that the future would study something related to it, but I was sure it would be this major; m. I have also always liked to teach, I have liked to help and guide others in what I can. From a very young age I helped my little brothers and schoolmates with all their homework and activities; tutoring classes in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Social, Geographical and Historical Sciences; Music, Philosophy, Economics, and Accounting. There was always something in me that encouraged me to help and guide others.

2- When I entered this major and before knowing the study plan, I thought to study it, would only involve issues related to language and pedagogy; I thought ur would perfect my English "literally" by dedicating entire semesters just to the language. The truth, it did not have a very broad connotation about teaching and much less, teaching a second language.

3- In the course of my major I have realized that the knowledge acquired is contrition made by myself with the help of my teachers who impart their knowledge and every day they motivate me to be a self-critical and reflective being.
-I understood that before learning and knowing new languages and cultures it is more important to appropriate the country's languages and cultures and to teach that richness to the strain must be preserved and sought not to extinguish.
-I understood that learning to teach a new language implies much more than learning the language and pedagogy classes, it implies the formation of the being and demonstrating it as a person and professional, knowing the history of both teaching and its development through history in the national territory, which is our context, implies so many things that perhaps at one time crossed my mind but I never took them into account with the weight and seriousness that they denote.
