         <title>Waltham-Lowell Factory System</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><em>1813<br></em>The Waltham-Lowell was the first mill built in the US, which processed raw cotton into cloth. The system was faster and more efficient than traditional methods. More jobs were created, especially for women ages 15-35. This new innovation revolutionized the textile industry in American and boosted America's economy after the War of 1812. The war ended with a stalemate where neither side gained ground, however it brought long-term peace between both sides.          <description><![CDATA[<div><em>March 3, 1820</em><br>The Missouri Compromise was an agreement taken by Congress that accepted Missouri as a slave state and Maine as a free state. The agreement also divide the Louisiana Purchase land into to regions divided at 36 degrees 30 minutes. The Missouri Compromise helped balance the equal representation between the free and slave states in the US government. Garrison did not make a lot of money however he spread the idea that all Americans should have equal rights.          <description><![CDATA[<div><em>1841</em><br>Fifty-three illegally purchased African slaves were being transported from Cuba on the Amistad ship. The slaves were then imprisoned when intercepted with American ship. With two American lawyers, the slaves won a court trial and would return to their homeland. The Africans were offered their equal right to a fair trial, regardless of their skin color.
