I'm currently a student, but am working a part-time job. Since I live at home and do not have to pay rent or amenities, I am able to save the money I make at my part-time gig. After graduation, I plan to find a job that offers a 401k plan and health insurance benefits.

My goal is to save as much money as I am able to each year. I plan to put as much money as allowed into my 401k each year and hope that my employer will match what I put in. The retirement toolkit that we read in this course was beneficial in helping me learn the importance of retirement savings. My ultimate goal is to be financially stable and save smart because I know that many individuals find their retirement savings do not last them as long as they live (PBS, 2015).

I plan to purchase an annuity by the time I'm 60. I also plan to get assistance from a financial consultant who can help me with retirement planning and investments. I believe that being smart with your money when investing in stocks can serve as a beneficial source of income.

I think working with a financial consultant would be a smart move since they are much more experience in investments and retirement planning. I work want to work with a financial advisor earlier in life to ensure I am on the right track to financial security in later life. I believe it is important to save and invest money wisely, which is what I plan to do. I think that investment income could be very beneficial and a crucial source of income to help me achieve financial security in later life.

Create & Implement Financial Action Plan

I plan towait to receive Social Security full benefits.I do not plan to retire until I am at least 70 years old if I am still able to work full-time. I have also given thought to the idea of participating in bridge employment, which is working a part-time job after retirement to continue bringing in an income (Kim & Feldman, 2000). My plan is to use a savings and retirement calculator to do the math to figure out how much I should save each month to reach my retirement goal and how long my retirement savings will last me. I will also use an excel sheet to keep track of what I need to pay each month, how much I need to set aside, and to keep track of the total amount I was able to save that month. This system can help keep my finances and spending organized to ensure that I do not spend more than I can afford to.

Every five years, I will evaluate my retirement savings/401k, investment income, Social Security benefits, and anything else (such as my annuity once I buy that down the road). Additionally, I plan to use phone alarms for each Friday at 3pm to look at my stocks and see if I should sell or consider buying more of one stock depending on how the market is looking.
