The orientation day of IVC challenge kickstarted with some group warm-up activities. We sat down, wrote down each member's character strengths. As we met our client Mist, we learnt about the organisation's mission, vision and business strategy. We initiated a report draft about the research areas of international student's aspects for future work allocation.

I had my first online meeting with my team and got assigned the task of researching international student's accomodation and transport preferences. I focused on comparing student's rental differences across different countries.

I continued working on the solutions to address issues related to student's problems in seeking accomodation when studying abroad. I had regular meetings with the team and relevant clients. I tried to align my solutions with the organisation's technology roadmap. As Mist is a technology business startup, my solutions target the possible online bundles Mist can offer students.

Day 9 - 6 hours

As the project entered the middle stage, I began setting final objectives and drafting the next project plan. I gathered my solutions and developed a skeleton template for the final report. My client requires some up-to-date changes and I spent some time critically thinking how these products from business partners can be integrated into Mist's student app.

Day 10 - 7 hours

As the final pitching day approached, we began designing our presentation slides. We as a group practiced rehearsals and adjusted our speech to the time limits. I felt that writing down some bullet points before making a pitch really helps me boost my confidence and speaking quality.

Day 12 - 6 hours

We made some last-minute changes to the final report and decided to include a survey for researching student's demands for Mist. I worked on the questions for understanding student's preferred accomodation types and maximum budgets. As we tracked down our initital goals and felt that all targets were achieved, we submitted our final report to the client for constructive feedback.

Day 16 - 6 hours

I made my personal 1-minute pitch to the client and judging panel on the Final Pitching day. We received positive on-the-spot feedback on our innovative solutions that addressed the user requirements throughout the software product's lifecycle. As our team was announced to win the First prize, we celebrated together at a small party and wrote some personal farewell notes for each other. I logged my final hours on Practera platform and submitted the supervisor assessment's deliverables to receive a badge.

Day 4 - 8 hours

By gathering quantitative and qualitative data, I had some factual information to work on at the initial stage. I cleaned, analyzed and visualized over five tables of data using Excel and Tableau.

I spent extra time researching the online partners of Mist and their offerings on the ecommerce website. I used Microsoft OneNote to jot down some notes and evaluated their package values against the typical student budget.

I spent sometime preparing my pitch notes and made some changes to visual diagrams in the final report. I looked through these images and added some captions for clarification.

I was reading the standard referencing rules in an academic report and wrote a summary. After finishing that summart, I sent it back the whole group and offered clear instructions to each reference's category.

I held a meeting with some group members and we rehearsed the pitch final time. We provided constructive feedback to each other. I tailored my speech at the last minute and prepared the presentation format for extra review.

I looked through the report draft and listed out some sources for research. I filled my calendar with some updates for future meetings. As I drafted my calendar, I added some shared content for the first meeting tomorrow.

I included some general objectives for each stage in the project plan. As some members in the group suggested goal changes, I adjusted them to reflect the common agreement of the group.

As I got some details on the packages, I researched each stage of Mist roadmap and assessed the suitability. As I was able to shortlist some packages and corresponding student populations, I made some notes for the group meeting tomorrow.

I submitted the final report and informed each member in the group of tomorrow's itinerary. I made some speech notes and edited some presentation slides together with another member. We focused on the relevance of each content piece and the summarized bullet points with regards to the final report.
