         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>I chose my ‘Planning for children with special needs’ assessment as evidence to support Graduating Teachers Standard<strong> 4a which is to draw upon content knowledge and pedagogical content knowledge when planning, teaching and evaluating. </strong>In this assessment I had chosen to discuss on Autism emphasizing 4 key characteristics and establishing a learning need. I then used this information to create 2 smart goals along with strategies to support the learning need of children with Autism. I chose this assessment as evidence because I drew upon pedagogical content knowledge to plan and teach for children with special needs. </div>]]></description>

For example strategies to support children’s social competence and emotional safety include...</div><div><em>LISTENING</em>: When you listen to a child you are showing that you care about the child and what they have to say, you are supporting their emotional needs as well as social competence (Berk, 2014). Children’s self-esteem is lifted when a teacher takes time out of their hectic day to listen to their interests, experiences or worries resulting in children feeling valued and confident  (Webster-Stratton, 1999). I chose this assessment as evidence because I demonstrate the ability to provide strategies that support social competence and pro social behaviour. This assessment includes strategies I have come up with to promote and nurture the emotional safety of learners.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I chose this assessment to also support Graduating Teachers Standard <strong>4f</strong>. In this assessment I was required to analyze a scenario of an abused child and write up ways to manage this kind of situation. I was to refer to the centre’s child protection policy as well as Children Youth and Family. I had talked about services in the community that are available to support families and their children that are at risk. For example the scenario mentions the parent is struggling financially and so I suggested support service such as citizen’s advice bureau and Work and income that can provides family assistance and sole-parent benefit. I chose this assessment as evidence because it demonstrates my commitment to promoting and nurturing the safety of learners. <br><br></div>]]></description>
