She is involved in an affair with a married man, John Proctor, and basically starts to "catch feelings" with him. Once Proctor rejects her, she gets hurt emotionally. She then accuses other girls of practicing witchcraft which was a huge crime back in this time period. The motive behind her actions was to try to get back at John Proctor, the man that broke her heart, but she knows she still loves. She does not know how to take rejection and isn't used to it like I am. She is a lying, manipulative women that acts "petty" just to get what she wants.
