Book - The excerpt is about a Syrian girl who came to America. Her name is Jude. She struggles to fit in because people don't accept her. Her friends and family try to guide her through no matter the circumstances.

Head - It was challenging to read the part where she saw that 'Terrorists' was written across the side of their restaurant. I say that because it is extremely rude and racist even to write a vulgar thing like that on someone else's property.

Heart - What I took to heart was the part when Jude's Mother tries to comfort her although deep down she is in grave hurt because of the actions that were done. I say this because mothers are always trying to stay calm and guide their kids although they experience a lot of pain. They still stay strong and courageous.
