Kim Dan-bi represented the women's professional basketball team at the 2023-2024 in Aichi W League All-Star Game at the Toyoda Gosei Memorial Gymnasium in Nagoya, Japan, on the 3rd. Entering the stadium with cheers from Japanese fans, Kim Dan-bi introduced himself and said, "Thank you for inviting me to a good place."

After the All-Star Game, Kim Dan-bi said, "We had a break after the season. I thought we would have fun because it was the All-Star Game. However, I think Japanese players are accustomed to working hard. Retired players also worked hard, and I think we caused inconvenience to them. If I have a chance next time, I will try harder."

A meaningful event was also held during halftime prior to the third quarter. The Japanese Women's Basketball League (WJBL) prepared a video dedicated to Kim Dan-bi, who announced her retirement from the national team after the Hangzhou Asian Games (AG) last year. After the video was over, Kim took to the court amid applause.

"I was really surprised. I was standing outside and I was very surprised to see myself in the video. It was so meaningful to me that I asked the person next to me to take a picture of me because I was not holding my cell phone," he said. "Thank you for introducing me nicely. As you introduced me well, I think I should do my best to finish the rest of my career in a good way."

From the third quarter of the W-League GREATEST25 All-Star Game, Kim Dan-bi wore a uniform and played with former and current W-League legendary players selected by Japanese basketball fans and experts. He played longer than expected. After playing for about five minutes in the third quarter, Kim appeared again in the fourth quarter.

"This time, older players such as (Kim) Jeong-eun, (Lee) Kyung-eun, and me will attend the event. It only takes three to five minutes to play, and I heard it was a place to enjoy," Kim Dan-bi said. "But when I entered the stadium, I was surprised because the game was fast and dynamic. It was the first time in a while that I ran out of breath."

Kim displayed brilliant breakthroughs during the game, and created an interesting scene with Makki Takada, an All-Star player in the West Army, adding to the fun to the All-Star game. The two also had a showdown at Hangzhou AG on behalf of South Korea and Japan. On the day, Kim recorded four points, two rebounds, and one steal.

"I do not keep in touch with Takada and Machida Luigi separately. However, they have competed for a long time in the national team. Although they have not contacted each other, they both knew each other's faces and played during the same period in common. Before the match, I also played pranks. I said, "My legs hurt" and "Please save me."

Kim Dan-bi will compete in the Skills Challenge on the second day and the fourth day. Among the finalists, Nako Motohashi ranked first with an overwhelming time of 26.20 seconds. Kim said, "I was surprised to score a three-point shot at once, more than when I entered the 26th minute. I have never played in the Skills Challenge in Korea.

This is my first time playing in Japan, and I am not that confident. I want to compete against Japanese players for speed."

Japanese reporters also showed interest in him. Asked how he would finish his career, Kim Dan-bi said, "I have retired from the national team. I don't know how many more years I will do. I think it will be five years at the most. I will do my best for the rest of the year as if you remember me as a great player in Japan. I want to remember everyone who is watching me as a great player."

BY: 토토사이트
