She surrounded herself with highly intelligent and loyal advisors such as Sir William Cecil, Sir Francis Walsingham and Sir Robert Cecil who gave her sound political advice. 

The English navy defeated further attempts at invasion in 1596 and 1597. 

Her reign saw several rebellions – from the Irish ‘’The rising of the North’’ and the Essex rebellion – all of which she defeated. 

She survived various Catholic plots and conspiracies such as the Bobbington plot involving Mary Queen of scots.

Elisabeth returned to the royal estate at Hatfield, away from the court because of tensions with Parr and Parr’s new husband Thomas Seymour. Seymour was later tried for conspiring to wed Elisabeth in a bid to gain power. He was found guilty and was executed.

She grew up in complex and sometimes difficult circumstances. She was the daughter of King Henry VIII and his second wife Anne Boleyn. Elisabeth was only two years old when her mother died. Her mother was beheaded by Elisabeth’s father. Her father wanted a male heir, but after a while she and her half-sister Mary was potential heirs.

After earlier Queens that were a disaster, thought people that Elisabeth would be a disaster to. 
She was unmarried, and People thought she should marry someone to get more support and be stronger, but she didn't want to. 
She ruled England alone for almost half a Century. 

She was committed to England and her work, she wanted to be a great Queen.
