臺中國家歌劇院造型前衛，以「美聲涵洞」概念，採用曲牆、孔洞與管狀等別具一格的設計，整棟建築完全沒有樑柱支撐，也無一處為90度牆面，顛覆了一般建築物的概念。

由於臺中國家歌劇院興建難度極高，因此被建築業界稱為「全球最難蓋的房子」，而「曲牆」建築工法更獲得建築工法的世界專利認證。

TAIPEI 101多節式外觀，以高科技巨型結構（Mega Structure）確保防災防風的顯著效益。每八層形成一組自主構成的空間，自然化解高層建築引起之氣流對地面造成的風場效應，透過建築設計綠化植栽區的區隔，確保行人的安全與舒適性。大樓造型宛若勁竹節節高昇、柔韌有餘，象徵生生不息的傳統建築意涵。內斜七度的建築面，層層往上遞增；無反射光害的高度透明省能隔熱帷幕玻璃，讓人們在台灣的最高建築內，觀天看地。高科技材質及創意照明，以透明、清晰、營造視覺穿透效果，與自然及週遭環境大尺度的融合。

領先全球半導體產業，獲得美國綠建築協會 (U.S.

Green Building Council, USGBC)評量系統「能源與環境設計先導-既有建築(Leadership in Energy

and Environmental Design - Existing Building:

Operation and Maintenance, LEED-EB O&M)」之

白金級標章，這是台積公司第六個取得美國LEED

認證之建築物註1，亦是全球第一座LEED白金級標

章晶圓廠。此外，晶圓十二廠第四期辦公大樓亦榮獲內政部綠建築及智慧建築鑽石級雙認證，成為全國第一座鑽石級智慧綠建築。
