I think the Gettysburg Adress works better in conveying ideas. In the speech Lincoln used pauses to create affect. He also gave a theme for the audience to walk away with. He said the necessity was to see if the nation could endure such a battle. In the speech it seemed like the duties of the president was to inspire people to fight for what they believe in. In the speech he said that slavery was not just and everyone should be treated equally. Lincoln also used a pine to leave the audience thinking about something. The line was "That government of the people By the people for the people shall not perish from the earth. This means that the democracy and freedom should not disappear

The getysburg adress just has the presidnet explain ning what happended and the national crisis but doesnt have himw taking presidential authority. The emancipation procamation has Lincoln anouncing all slaves free

The emancipation proclamation better conveys a sense of freedom because it freed slaves. The gettysburg address better conveys the urgency of the national crisis because it told you what happened in the war. The gettysburg address better conveys Lincolns personal voice because it was a speech that he gave
