This bowl was inspired by the colors and textures of water and I feel like it really showed with the schlop I put around the bowl and I did like a wiggle motion with my finger as it spun on the wheel. I did a dip in Old Forge Blue and did alternating brush ons on the inside that includes Blue Lagoon, Indigo Float, and Blue Midnight.

I’m very happy with my moon bowl although the indents got covered up but it’s still recognizably the moon. I used cake tools for the craters and textures and I used linh sanity for the inside and indents on the outside. I also sprayed with clear glaze.

My Earth bowl was disappointing. I loved the inside combination (I’m sorry I forgot what it was😭) but the overall products looks muddy and brown and gross in my opinion. The ocean looks like an oil spill haha but it looks dirty and Ive covered it in a low fire glaze to give it more vibrance hopefully!! (I’ll post them soon)

Honestly I aimed to recreate a Native American style mask based on my mask inspiration but it looks like more of a blended style with sort of African designs? Even though I looked at my inspo pics I still free handed the painting which I’m not too upset about but I really liked the eyes.

This is one of my top 5 pieces of ceramic works I’ve done and it was my first time doing under glaze as well! I’m so so proud of this piece mainly due to the paint job of the under glaze which I typically don’t do and the unintentional crackles all throughout the surface. I used a lot of tiny brushes and I traced a sketch in pencil which was super nerve wracking but also fun. I think I used the HF under glazes of Paisley Blue and Very Red or something along the lines of that. I had a couple different diluted solutions of each color to get the shading right.

I kinda expected this color to turn out differently that this odd grey color but I’m not completely disappointed? The drainage holes sorta got covered but not entirely.

I expected this color to turn out differently and melt in and blend a little more but I like the colors! I don’t remember which colors I used but I remember doing Smokey merlot and obsidian on the outer rims.
