Odysseus is the main character in The Odyssey, and in Book XII his role as a leader is very important. He is intelligent and careful, especially when facing danger. Odysseus listens to Circe’s warnings and prepares his crew for threats like the Sirens and Scylla. This shows that he is wise and thinks ahead. At the same time, his personality shows curiosity and pride, which sometimes lead to problems. Even though his crew disobeys him, Odysseus continues to guide them and tries to keep everyone safe. Overall, Odysseus is brave, clever, and determined, and his choices shape the events of the story.
