~Integrate an activity into the lesson you have planned. For example, an open ended question at the beginning of a math lesson (How many, What doesn't belong, How many ways can you solve for ____; In literacy, ask "What do you see in this picture?" visual writing prompts, mentor texts that promote thinking creatively, etc.
~ Set thinking routines.
~Creating an open schedule so that students are able to set their learning schedules (with non-negotiables.)
~ Task cards with creative activities that reflect the learning goals.
~ Allow students a variety of options to present what they have learned.
~ Plan lessons that are transdisciplinary.
