I think that my final artwork looked really awesome and I am proud of it. Let me explain the meaning behind my artwork.

My pop-up piece was a drawing of a reflection that are facing outwards. The character used for the reflection was meant to look like a reptilian head, because the structure of reptiles are aliens, thus creating the suspense of what the character might be. However, I drew the character in human clothes to suggest that it should have been a person, but it could be anyone. But if viewers want to view it as an animal, the reptilian figure head would help her imagine that.

I used the reflection as a divider: the left reflection would be made of outbursts of colours, meant to create the feeling of an explosion in your body when you look at the upper left quarter of the artwork with wild splatters of paint. The left character was splattered with paint and coloured vibrantly while the right reflection has no colour at all, only markings.

The lower left quarter of the painting have been decorated with lines meant to make it look like a river as I want the viewer to feel calm when looking at that. There are slight surprises there, because I added snippets of paper that had chaotic colours on them, causing the colours to clash.

On the right reflection, all the space have been filled by markings. This has been created to make the viewer feel the weight of insecurity, frustration and chaos on their shoulders.

With this artwork, I hope to evoke many different types of feelings in the viewer such as finding beauty in chaos and calamity in darkness.
