This article connects to my book After by Amy Efaw  because the pregnant teen's parents were not together and Devon did not have a dad either. Also when the teenage girl's dad found out she was pregnant acted about the same as Devon's mom reacted. They were both very angry and disappointed in the children and the situation they had put themselves in.

The antagonist/conflict caused Devon to open up to her provided lawyer DOM which Devon never thought she would do. It also caused Devon to actually think/talk about what happened  that day and to express herself.
Another conflict in this story is man vs. self. Devon always says she was clueless that she was pregnant. We also learned that Devon is not always truthful so you are confused on what to believe. Devon is regretful of her decision and wanted to go to school on a soccer scholarship but it all might be ruined and regrets meeting the guy and that whole summer.
