I have a background in teaching English as a second language and as a journalist for print and radio. More recently I trained as an online dialogue facilitator and have been involved with VIU's Global Virtual programme for the past 4 years. 
I'm so looking forward to meeting you all and having some interesting interactive discussions about identity, culture and diversity.

Currently, I'm pursuing a Master's degree in English Studies at the University of Padova. I have a strong passion for this field and a deep understanding of various aspects such as language, literature, linguistics, and cultural studies.

In addition to my academic background, I bring years of teaching experience to our class. I have had the privilege of sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm for English with diverse groups of students. My name is Eva. I am a 25-year-old international student, originally from Austria, doing my Bachelor's in Language, Literature and Cultural Communication here in Padova. Because I've dedicated my time to many different things before finding out what I really want to study, I have just started living in Pd and speaking Italian since Oct 22. 

As of now, I speak four languages (none mastered, hehe): German, English, Spanish and Italian. I am also curious to learn Portuguese, French and Arabic and Thai in the future. That being said, I think you get the point that I am passionate about languages and communication. I am really excited to learn about those topics in a more profound way throughout this course for both my professional and private life. 

I love cooking meals and creating new recipes. In my free time and for the sake of mental health, I practice yoga and try to establish a habit of meditating. I am keen on neuroscience and quantum physics. In the past I used to spend a lot of time in my grandpa's garden and philosophizing about the world with him (aka person in picture), but now, since he's become my guardian angel, I don't live near the nature anymore, which I sometimes really miss. I love spending time with family, the elders and children.

At the moment of this course I am mostly occupied with looking for a flat for the upcoming academic year and studying for the remaining 5 exams I want to take.

I have two major passions in life: learning and exploring different cultures. I love diving into new knowledge and broadening my horizons. During my free time, I engage in various activities to improve myself. Some of my favorite hobbies include hitting the gym, sketching with pencils, playing amateur roles in the theatre, etc.

Coming to Padova for my master's was a big step for me. It was my first time going abroad, and Italy opened up a whole new world of experiences for me. I felt so liberated and challenged myself to go beyond my limits.

Being in an engineering department has definitely presented its fair share of challenges, but I'm proud to say that I've successfully completed all my courses. Right now, I'm fully focused on my Research Training and final thesis. I'm lucky enough to be working on an exciting project in collaboration with CERN. My goal is to design and simulate a wireless communication system for the CERN particle collider. It's both fun and demanding, but I genuinely enjoy every moment of it.

Given my limited free time, I always strive to make the most of it. That's why being a part of this project feels like a fantastic opportunity. I can't wait to get to know each and every one of you.
