Eric Hinterman talks about the necessity of space traveling

Eric Hinterman is from Moxi, a project where they try convert the air on mars into oxygen. Which they apparently are very successfull at. He makes an example of an civilization that once lived at an island for many generations and never explored whats behind the water. One day a vulcano erupted and killed everyone on the island. And thats the basic fear/idea of why space travelling is so important. Through populating the solar system and the independence of one planet, the chances of survival for humanity increases. And for that travelling to mars is the first step. He even claims that space missions can improve live on earth and they already did. Following technologies were invented through research on space projects: smartphone cameras, firefighting equipment , advanced solar cells, water filters and so on. In this Ted Talk he answers the question on why we should go to mars and why its not a wastefulness of resources.
It made me rethink my opinion on space traveling and it excited me a little bit. It made me wondering if I am going to be alive when this all takes place.

The story of a changing Michael Corleone and his rise to power within the Corleone Family

This is the first movie of the Godfather trilogy and it's my favourite one. The movie is focusing on the transformation of the youngest son of the Corleone Family, a well known sicilian family in New York. Michael Corleone ,played by Al Pacino, is tranforming from a reluctant family outsider to a ruthless mafia boss. The movie starts with the wedding of Michaels Sister where he arrives with his girlfriend kate as an war hero from the second World War. Kate doesn't know much about Michaels family so Michaels tries to describe what kind of family they are and why he isn't involved in the family business. But the shooting on his father ,also known as 'the Godfather', makes him getting involved in the family business and he slowly starts to change into another man. I love movies like this one, because they are perfectly portraiing the times back then, right after the second world war. What makes this movie so intersting for me is, that you get to see Michaels change and rise to the head of the family and the lifestyle that goes with it.

Chuck Palahniuk is the award winning author of "Fight Club", "Choke" and other books.

I became aware of this podcast through the movie Fight Club. I often heard that Fight Club is a classic and i wanted to know why. The movie itself was fascinating. I can't say if it's truly a classic, because I am not a movie critic, but besides that the movie delieverd some classic insiders like the rules of the fight club. In the Podcast, Chuck and Joe discuss the importancy of role models for young males. Chucks says that in our modern society it becames harder and harder for a man to figure out how to behave as a so called "man" and what society expects from you but actually leeds you in a different direction. He think there should be more males in jobs like kindergarten teachers and elementary schools, because it is dominated by women. Which is no bad thing, but for very young men there should be more males they can look up to and learn from them. He also talks about what motivated him to write "Fight Club". For me it was a real eye opener and i could relate to many things he said that i wasn't aware of before.

In this documentary series, polymatter gives an insight of China and the problems it has to deal with.

Through that documentary I learned a lot about china from a new and neutral perspective. Thats not very common, because in the western world we often get to read negative articles about China especially from newspapers. They often have a problem with how the Chinese Government deals with certain situations and their ideals which aren't the same as the ones we have in Europe. This documentary focus on the chinese ambition to become the leading superpower in the world by 2050. Whether it is realistic and possible. They talk about the demograpic collapse, the housing crisis, the water crisis and their national insecurity. This helped me to understand China better. It even predicted the Evergrande scandal and the might upcoming housing crisis in China.
