Since I have become the minister of this church, I have not been respected appropriately by some of the people in the town. I barely make enough money to get by, and I cannot even afford niceties for the church such as golden candlesticks (shouldn't the Lord have the very best). This scandal is sure to cause me to be run out of town.

I legitimately want my congregation to be safe and their souls to be bound for Glory. I am worried that there is a real threat of witchcraft in the town, and I have called in numerous experts to help get to the bottom of things.

Now, everyone in town is getting angry at us because we are trying to do the Lord's work. I don't understand how these people cannot see that the devil is at work. AITA for trying to save my congregation?

Yes, I may have committed a sin. The sin was adultery. I had an affair with Abigail, but it was not my choice. My thoughts got a hold of me and I could not help the outcome. I try day and night to fix things with Elizabeth but it always seems like it's my fault. I am terribly sorry for the way things turned out and for what I did, but Elizabeth always seems to bash me for what I did. I feel as if she shouldn't be acting the way she is because I am sorry for what I did. It was my mistake but I could not help it at the moment.

These children continue to tremble in fear of these evil spirits that they continue to see. There are 20 of these children so it leads me to believe that what they are saying is true.

I have had people testify against these children but none of their stories match up. Since none of their stories match up, it leads me to the conclusion that the adults accusing the children and the adults being accused by the children are wrong here.

For example: John Proctor claimed that Abigail was a "whore". He also claimed that he "knew her"(Abigail) and that his wife would never lie. We brought her in to see if he was testifying the truth but she said that he never had an affair with her in the first place. She said that she had her suspicions but that he was faithful.

After he lied we sentenced 19 people to death including him and his wife.

This happened some time ago, yet I still have not forgiven him. He gets upset at me for not forgiving him. He tells me that he already suffers as it is knowing that he did such an act, but he was willing to keep lying to my face until I found out.

He is always upset with himself and feels guilty about his actions, but I am still very upset about it. I do not understand how he could do such a thing to me. He says he loves me, but if he did why would he cheat on me?

Everyone is telling me to keep Salem informed with what is happening. If I do this and people find out she has become sick from witchcraft in the woods, my reputation will be ruined.
