         <description><![CDATA[<p>Stalin established an Authoritarian regime in postwar Russia because he wanted to industrialize the Soviet Union because the other countries were more advanced.  In order to catch up to these countries Stalin needed to have complete control of the government and of the people, which is why he established the Authoritarian Regime. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>- Soviet Union majority was originally made up of peasant farmers who depended on themselves and their land for food and shelter.</p><p>-Stalin's industrialization required everyone to depend on the government for everything, which gave him authority and power over them.</p><p>-This power allowed him to control everything in the government.</p><p>- Stalin set up kolkhozi, which were farms used to export the agricultural goods or used to make food in the new cities.</p><p>- Peasant farmers were forced to work as kulaks on the kholkhozi or find work in the cities.</p>]]></description>

The government supported the advancement inf technology  by setting aside resources for research and Stalin created the Five Year Plans in order to industrialize. They were also one of the first countries to develop atomic bombs.</p><p>-used radio to spread his policies &amp; it was considered a convenient way for mass communication since even illiterate people would be able to understand the messages </p><p>-through posters, Stalin was able to spred his policies.</p>]]></description>
