Now having so much time pass it's probably so traumatizing and disgusting to look back on their experiences and answer peoples questions one how their experiences were. Even painting out their experiences as their way of expression is challenging (I can’t assume or put myself in their shoes to ever understand). In Ms.Roses essay this phrase stood out to me, “Fewer could communicate what they saw to the world” Having that impacting experience in your life makes you think you would remember everything and communicate it to the world. However people can’t put into words how traumatizing their experiences were which makes me feel a deep sense of grief for the people. “she realized that no one remembered her own mother, who had perished in Auschwitz, in their native town of Sarvar, 120 miles from Budapest, where the family had a large carpet weaving factory, Alice Cahana felt she must dedicate her art to

creating the memorial that was lacking to those who had been murdered and forgotten.” These words from Alice stood out to me because once returning to the site her whole view on the situation changed and she found more passion between her and her art which is really deep and inspiring to me. She shifted her whole form of artwork because she knew she had more within her and wanted people to always remember. The words, “spirituality over inhuman evil” stood out to me the most because Alice is so spiritually throughout this experience. It is chilling that she still to this day never gave up on her faith and didn’t blame any of her labeling on her faith. Instead she put it at the top of her reason for life as to always think about it over powering any wrong in the world. All the evil she went through and trauma she put the grace and comfort of her spirit above it all. In the artwork I chose from her, I chose it because it spoke the most to me once first looking at it. I can see the labeling, the train tracks to darkness, and the meaning behind the smoke gave me chills. Her experience and way of expressing herself in art makes me appreciate her life mission to never forget.

To only be 12 years old and your life is falling apart all around you at once with no one to help and answer your concerns. I see myself as a 12 year old and I can't comprehend or understand what might be going through his head. He was always on the go by traveling long distances with people dying all around him. He mentioned how they dug holes in the ground and when illness struck the village person after person would catch the disease and die. When he and his friends tried to escape they got caught and sent back which led them to encounter many experiences including seeing dead bodies floating down the river.

The American Cultural center building being set on fire on purpose was disgusting to read. There were 3 locations in the building where officials said evidence was found that proved they set a fire there. This center housed many events and associations apart of Arminaan ways of life. It made me really sad and scared that someone wanted to commit this crime as part of a hate crime against arminan people in the United States. Other information including how Armenians who were peacefully protesting in washington DC were attacked makes me even more scared for how people see them.

The hate crimes and violence in America shocks me and makes me sad to believe that anyone would commit these terrible actions. Bedros Bahadourians story makes me chilled with fear of what he had to go through in his early childhood and how he had to live with those experiences for the rest of his life. He now has gone through those terrible events and still has to see hate crimes of people being destructive and insensitive around him. This makes me more aware of what has and is still going on in the World and makes me want to advocate more for a change now.

Freedom is a blessing and allows people to live the lives they want to live. It is was allows everyone to be there own person and to think the way they want to think. Peoples actions are effects from there ideas. If our ideas are diminution or constructed by the people of higher ranking them society has no way of growing for the better.
In the movie, Sophie Scholl wasn't granted the freedom that we are used to having every day. She couldn't think or say anything that the government was against. Although she didn't have freedom according to the government she lived under, she had freedom within her self and knew that her ideas could be shared with others for the best. She and her brother both had this bond and knowledge that there freedoms had to be unleashed from inside them and they had to act on what they thought. They did this even though they knew there could be serious punishments for there crimes. They spread out flyer which included statements going against the government and were ultimately caught. They tried to defend themselves and get out of punishment but were ultimately sentenced to death.
There freedoms from within themselves were also taken away from them after they died. They couldn't think freely and let the world know how they felt from within. They had to keep it inside in order to survive which they ultimately didn't achieve. However there coraguious ideal and attitudes towards the issue at hand shows how passionate they are and how free they felt to think from within. Denial is an attempt to claim the holocaust never happened. People deny the holocaust because they want to make antisemitesim acceptable again. They state, “Jews invented to holocaust for ill gain”. This began with the Nazis who tried to cover up what was happening. Opperation 1005 which was a program who tried to destroy evidence of the holocaust. Social political and cultural conditions prevented people from talking about the sensitive subject of the holocaust. Distortion of the holocaust is people who are uneducated who havent been presentent all the facts. Down playing the accuracy in certain facts. It opens the door to total denial, antisemitisim, and other forms of hate. This can occur with people who are trying to restore what they did wrong or the crimes they commited during the holocaust. The effects this has on Holocaust survivors & their families is tramatizing. These one story of a man who had no survivers in his community and claimed that anybody who was a holocaust deniar was calling him a liar. He was upset and claims that he is in fact not a liar and instead is a witness to a horrible tragedy. By saying that he is a liar is continuing the trama for him and his relatives which is unethical.

This started with the Nazis trying to cover up the crimes they commited.
Generals went to the death camps in order to take pictures to prove these crimes happened.
Some people over time want to simpleyfy the previous history of the holocaust in order to set aside the trajity and to feel pride or even patriotism
People want to deny the holocaust in order to impove there other political agendas
After the holocaust ended many communities found it unright to talk about the conditions that just happened which lead to talking of the holocaust to be minimal
People state false numbers or events that took place in order to cover up the crimes they were apart of
People deny the holocaust and promot there beleif in order to get attention and have other large communities support there conspiracies.

- I don't think it is right for people to deny and disregard the horrible facts at which happened
- People who partake in holocaust denial are doing it for sinical and idenelogical reasons.

- Denial is very dangerous because if you erase history we don't know how to look back and fix our mistakes and instead will just end up repeating our mistakes.

This along with a lot of other holocaust survivors hit me the most and makes me feel terrible. I selected this image because it was the most captivating to me with all the people saluting to hitler and his people holding up their flag. It captivated me because of how many people were following his rule even though he had horrible motives behind him.
I believe this image was selected for this book because it show cases the march of hitler youth in Berlin, Germany 1934 when many people supported Hitler.
