By 1977, They were resident spinners at the Gallery, located at 132 West 22nd St. in Manhattan,NY.  Than Levan and Knuckles went their separate routes and Knuckles popularity exploded in New York during the disco era. He became so popular, a group of Chicago-based promoters were opening a new club called the Warehouse and wanted him to spin there.
