Problem:  Sharks attacking swimmers

Biomimicy Product:  Magnets in broken PVC pipe

Description of Product:

Magnets repel sharks. Therefore, I wanted to create a way to put magnets in the ocean near the beach/swimmers.  Magnets slide into the PVC pipes.  The PVC pipes must be broken to mimic sea grass.  This design moves smoothly with the waves and does not get broken.

Problem: Wildfires

Biomimicry Product: Fake "Plants" made by elements that react to fire negatively

Inspired from Nature: Non flammable plants, sage, lavender, yucca, etc.

Description of Product:

The shape of triangles attract fires because of their three sides. Each side will attract the fire because the sides will contain heat, oxygen, and fuel. So fire will go towards the triangle but in my product I am surrounding the triangle in "plants" created by material that reacts to fire. Those elements release oxygen when heat touches it. With that oxygen it will slowly stop the fire with too much oxygen.

Problem: Losing items and losing them forever

Biomimicry Product: The oils that ducks use to float on water

Inspired from Nature: By ducks

Description of Product: You apply the oil to an item and the oil makes the item float, just like ducks apply oil to their wings to float.

Problem: U.S. Soldiers are dying in war

Biomimicry product: a deployable wall for cover on the battlefield

inspired by nature: a pufferfish

description of the product: it is a little ball that can fit in almost every bag. you can throw it in front of you or place it in front of you it gives you a bulletproof cover and is blast-resistant from grenades..

Problem: Blind people are running into objects and getting hurt too often.

Biomimicry Product: Headphones that alert a blind person using echolocation when an object is close.

Inspired from Nature: The dolphin uses echolocation to help find food.

Description of Product: These are headphones that use sensors and echolocation to help direct blind people when walking. These headphones will release sound waves and when they hit an object these waves will bound off the object and return back to the sensor. These sensors alert this person to help avoid any crashes.

Problem: It is tough to see in the dark and the different types of night vision equipment can be expensive and hard to wear.

Biomimicry Product: Contacts that will have the same structure as night vision equipment but easier to wear

Inspired by Nature: Raindeers' set eyes adapt to the long winter night and help them see in the dark.

Description of products: The contacts will be made with the same materials as nigh vision. When light hits the eyes th elight will also hit the laser gain. Increasing the little amount of ligth around. Help the person see.

Problem: Difficulties opening cans

Biomimicry Product: Metal ring that makes it easier to open tabs on cans

Inspired from Nature: Squirrel nails make it easy to open things

Description of Product: The "scooper" is made out of a stainless steel so that it is durable and liquid does not damage the product. A stainless steel ring is attached to the scooper, making it easier to use the product.

Problem: People using drones to spy or record others illegally

Biomimicry Product: A Launcher that can launch a net up to catch a drone, with cameras to detect a drone.

Inspired from Nature: Frogs that have a tongue on their mouth so they can launch their entire tongue to catch insects.

Description of Product: This launcher uses wheels to launch a net once the camera detects a drone using AI. There are 100 feet of rope stored inside the launcher, and it's stored in the front of it. Once the AI detects a drone, it will calculate its distance, and launch the net at a power that won't wreck the drone.

problem: parachutes don't open as fast as they should.

Biomimicry product: safer parachute

inspired from nature: Owl's wings so parachute is quiet and safe.

Description of product: this product will make skydiving safe and where you don't have to worry at all. this parachute opens when it gets 200ft from the Earth's surface

Problem: pollution/ oil spills in the water

Biomimicry Product: A ring that traps oil, and then a vacuum in the middle of the ring.

Inspired by Nature: This is inspired by suckermouth fish, which cleans things like algae.

Description of product: A mix of an Oil Boom and an Oil Skimmer. The oil boom will collect all of the oil into one place, and the Oil Skimmer will vacuum it all out of the circle.

Problem: Regular umbrellas have many dangers, including being very weak, non-smooth texture for all of the water to drip off and they break very often.

Biomimicry Product: A smoother and stronger umbrella

Inspired by nature: Lotus Leaf

Description of the product: This is an umbrella that makes it very easy for the water to slide right off without being pushed off by the strong winds. What makes this very easy is the umbrella has the same texture as the lotus leaf. The bottom of the umbrella has a strong handle like the stem of the lotus leaf to keep the umbrella from breaking as quickly.

Problem: helmets need to be better

Biomimicry product: A helmet that is like a turtle shell

Inspired by nature: Turtle shells are very strong

Description of product: this helmet is stronger than a normal helmet it has multiple layers that make it stronger

Problem: Trash

Biomimicry Product: Sweeps up trash by itself and uses a sensor to detect when there is trash. The arms curls up to collect the trash.

Inspired by Nature: This is inspired by an octopus because of the 8 arms.

Description of product: Uses a sensor to detect when trash is near, and has 8 arms that curls up to collect the trash. There is a vacuum between each arm that leads to a box, that hold all the trash. Runs off of electricity, and can travel on any surface.
