1. What did you do well:

Children was attentive during modular lesson, they enjoyed making their potatoes creation that week. They were able to list out the different types of potatoes, shared the ingredients used after the lesson and managed to use the utensils safely in class.

2. What was challenging?

Potato begedils lesson was quite challenging as it was quite messy doing the egg mixture and breadcrumbs and also time consuming to bake it. I needed to rush the lesson a little as we need to prepare some of the children that were going home early right after the lesson.

3. What can we do better next time?

Wake the children 5-10 mins early after naptime so there's enough time to bake during the lesson.

Being able to execute a lesson involving yarns, scrappers with paint!

• Managed to give the children the opportunity to use real tools such as, children’s knife and a cutting board. Created opportunities for the children by allowing them to explore different cooking methods such as, mashing, peeling & seasoning.

• Divide children into smaller groups with different stations (e.g., mashing, shaping, baking) to reduce waiting time and increase active participation for each child.

• Giving the children different lengths of yarn allowed them to explore further & use their imagination on how to utilize each yarn.

• Some children had difficulties trying to paint using their yarn and they ended up using their fingers.

• Display sample artworks or step-by-step visuals to help children better understand the process

Art & crafts: yarn art

1. What did you well?

   Children they are enjoyed to make the yarn artwork. They are using their favourite colours and dip into the glue and they explore the different artworks.

2. What was challenging?

   Painting with yarn children face a struggle to dip the yarn into the paint because they are using a different lengths of yarn.

3. What can we do better next time?

   Showing some video related to the topic, which means the painting with yarn this is for their easy understanding.

Showed the children sample of the yarn art. Children used their creativity skills to create different shapes and patterns using the yarns to stick onto their paper. The next day, they used water colour paints to paint their yarn art.

Some children have difficulty to stick the yarns onto their papers as their hands were full of glue and children keep wanting to wash their hands in between lesson, there was a lot of movements during lesson.

Call group by group to wash their hands next time, to minimise movements.

Encouraged children to try new foods and different ways of cooking it. The children loves to be involved in the cooking process. They enjoyed making the potatoes.

One or two children did not like the taste of the potatoes.

To get more support when doing cookery lessons.

Cookery: Children was engaged and had hands-on experience in making potatoes with different receipes.

Yarn Art: Children experience using yarn strings to paint instead of paintbrush and creating patterns and shapes with cardboards.

Cookery: Some children struggle in peeling potatoes and applying pressure to mash the potatoes which need assistance.

Yarn Art: Children may need hands-ons examples to create patterns and shapes with yarns and painting with cardboard.

Cookery: Show technique of how to peel the potatoes and appropriate pressure to mash the potatoes.

Yarn Art: Show and apply together step by step when doing Yarn Art and painting with cardboard.

All children's were happy , on what they are doing ,as the childrens were waiting to eat their own handmade begedils and wedges,

As it was not so challenging for ,with guardiance ,and well explain children's were able to do independently

• Providing children with yarn of varying lengths encourages them to explore creatively and imagine different ways to use each piece.

• The children is having difficulties in painting using their yarn, some of them get discourage after awhile and using their finger to paint instead.

What can we do better next time?

• Show the children bright, engaging examples or picture sequences to support them in following along with the activity so they can have fun in the same time.

What did you do well ?

I Support fine motor development, encourage creativity for the children in the yarn art activities, and create a calm, engaging environment where children explore textures, colors, and patterns while building confidence and self-expression.

What was challenging ?

1 or 2 children will take longer time in finishing the yarn art activities even though a grace time has been given to finish.

What can you do better ?

I can improve by offering more simplifying instructions, and giving each child more individual support and creative freedom.
