It involves collecting information through structured surveys, experiments, or observations to draw conclusions based on measurable evidence.</p><p><br/></p><p>• Qualitative Research - Qualitative research is a method used by researchers to explore and understand people's experiences, beliefs, and emotions. It involves collecting non-numerical data through interviews, observations, and analysis of texts.&nbsp;</p><p><br/></p><p>&nbsp;– Difference/s between Quantitative Research and Qualitative Reasearch:</p><p><br/></p><p>      Generally speaking, because qualitative research relies heavily on open-ended input, it cannot be scientifically assessed. Quantitative research, on the other hand, is simpler to assess using a survey platform since it uses questions with quantifiable, specified answer alternatives. – Quantitative research involves the collection and analysis of numerical data to identify patterns and relationships. It focuses on quantifiable variables, using statistical methods to draw conclusions, qualitative research delves into understanding phenomena through in-depth exploration of underlying reasons, motivations, and opinions. This method relies on non-numerical data like words, images, or observations to capture nuances and complexities. While quantitative research aims for generalizability and objectivity, qualitative research seeks to uncover subjective experiences and meanings. Quantitative research is structured, with predetermined hypotheses and standardized data collection tools, whereas qualitative research is more flexible, allowing for emergent themes and insights. Both approaches offer valuable insights but serve different purposes in the research process. In addition, quantitative and qualitative research are distinct yet complementary approaches in the realm of academic inquiry. It focuses on the "why" rather than the "what" of social phenomena and relies on the direct experiences of human beings as meaning-making agents in their every day lives.</p><p><br/></p><p>definition of quantitative research: Quantitative research deals in numbers, logic, and an objective stance. Quantitative research focuses on numeric and unchanging data and detailed, convergent reasoning rather than divergent reasoning.</p><p><br/></p><p>Difference between qualitative and quantitative:</p><p><br/></p><p>Qualitative research is the study of qualitative phenomena. The question "why?" is significant in this context. Qualitative research is concerned with investigating and comprehending a topic. It allows us to better comprehend a person's behavior. The quality of various people's opinions will also be revealed here.  On the other hand, quantitative research refers to numerical data. Here the questions "how much" and "how many" correspond. It is focused on statistical data that helps us to know the pattern, average and general results in broad surveys. It exists through computation techniques where the accumulated research of citizens is counted. Marasigan </p><p><br/></p><p>Quantitative and qualitative research methods in surveys synergize to acquire extensive and profound findings. Choosing the method depends on the type of data, information and insights you aim to capture to serve your research goals. The main difference between quantitative and qualitative research is the type of data they collect and analyze. Quantitative research involves on analyzing and gathering numerical data to measure variables and draw conclusions. It is by gathering quantifiable data and performing statistical, mathematical, or computational techniques. Also, it aims for generalizability and often seeks to test hyphotheses. In contrast, the main purpose of qualitative research is to understand the individual’s thoughts, feelings, opinions, and reasons behind these emotions. It’s very different compared to quantitative research that are based on numerical data and statistical analysis. It is employed to obtain rich and in-depth information on a specific subject. Making educated research judgments requires knowing your audience's perspective on a certain topic. In summary, the decision to use either quantitative or qualitative research methodologies in surveys is based on the extent and quality of results needed to meet the goals of the study. It&nbsp;envolves&nbsp;obtaining&nbsp;</p><p>and&nbsp;evaluating&nbsp;data&nbsp;in&nbsp;order&nbsp;to&nbsp;</p><p>address&nbsp;issues,&nbsp;and&nbsp;provide&nbsp;answers. Research can be classified into two main categories: the Quantitative Research and Qualitative Research. The main difference of these 2 categories lies in the types of data they collect and analyze. Quantitative&nbsp;research,&nbsp;uses numerical&nbsp;data that&nbsp;is&nbsp;gathered&nbsp;</p><p>and&nbsp;analyzed,&nbsp;frequently&nbsp;with&nbsp;the&nbsp;use&nbsp;of&nbsp;statistical&nbsp;techniques,&nbsp;to further quantify&nbsp;relationships&nbsp;and&nbsp;</p><p>trends. It answers the questions about "how much" or "how many." On the other hand, Qualitative research uses non-numerical data. It is more on—words, observation, real life experience, or sometimes images to further explain a phenomena. It aims to  answering questions about "why" and "how." Age, weight, height, length, population, size, and other numerical quantities are instances of quantitative observation, however color, smell, taste, touch or feeling, typology, and forms are examples of qualitative observation. It is formed from a deductive approach where emphasis is placed on the testing of theory, shaped by empiricist and positivist philosophies.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>What Is the Difference Between Qualitative vs. Quantitative Research? Qualitative and quantitative studies collect different types of data, their data collection methods differ considerably. Quantitative studies rely on numerical or measurable data. On the other hand, qualitative studies rely on personal accounts or documents that illustrate in detail how people think or respond within society. Qualitative research methods include gathering and interpreting non-numerical data. The following are some sources of qualitative data Interviews, Focus groups, Documents, Personal accounts or papers, Cultural records, Observation. Quantitative studies, in contrast, require different data collection methods. These methods include compiling numerical data to test causal relationships among variables. Some forms of data collection for this type of study include Experiments, Questionnaires, Surveys, Database reports. With a focus on exploration, this kind of research uses video, audio, journal entries, and interview data sources.</p><p>And in-depth understanding of the subject is typically the goal of this kind of research. It is conducted through the use of open-ended interview questions, verbally described observations, and other methods. In contrast to qualitative research, <strong>Quantitative Research</strong> approaches questions from various perspectives. Rather than pursuing a subjective interpretation by posing exploratory "how?" and "Why?"questions, precise casual explanations that can be measured and expressed mathematically are provided by quantitative research. It establishes the cause-and-effect relationship between two variables using different statistical, computational, and statistical methods. In simple terms, <strong>Qualitative research</strong> focuses on verbal and written data and expressed using the words for the given data sets. On the other hand, <strong>Quantitative research</strong> uses statistical and logical observations to get a conclusion and generally expressed in numbers or using graphs. For example, you are about to interview people about their favourite food, you can use qualitative statistics in this. The other one is quantitative, from the word itself, quantity, involves number. For example, you're identifying how many children likes the color black and green. This both aim to collect knowledge and information, the qualitative explore the questions "why" and "how". While the quantitative answers the "what", "where", and "when" questions. So if you want to improve your cooking skills, qualitative research is the best way you can go. You can ask them how the taste and why they didn't or why did they like it. It proves hypotheses by statistical analysis and scientific method. It is called a formal, objective, systematic process in which numerical data is used to obtain information about the world. It is used to describe variables. It examines relationships among variables. While in <strong>Qualitative</strong> <strong>research </strong>uses words instead of numbers to display data. It focuses on feelings not numerical data. Small amount of participants involved in a qualitative research study. This kind of research method utilizes interviews, archived written information, and observations to measure the significance of a relationship between variables. <strong>Quantitative research </strong>uses tools like questionnaires and aims to test hypotheses directly. It seeks answers to questions about "what" and "how much" in order to generalize findings to a wider audience. On the other hand, qualitative research looks into people's experiences and meanings. By conducting interviews, observations, and document analysis, qualitative research collects detailed descriptions to uncover the reasons behind "why" and "how" questions. For example, a researcher was assigned to study the effectiveness of a new educational program. Quantitative research could look at test scores from many schools using the program compared to a control group. This shows how well the program affects test scores. Qualitative research, by talking to teachers and students, could give more details about how the program is used in classrooms, what people think about it, and how it helps students in different ways. While quantitative research aims for objectivity and broad findings, qualitative research seeks depth and insight into social realities. The use of the two methods depends on the research question. For measuring variables and testing hypotheses, quantitative research works well. It means that relating to, measuring, or measured by the quantity of something rather than its quality. On the other hand, qualitative came from the Latin word qualitas or qualitativus mixed with the English word quality. It means relating to, measuring, or measured by the quality of something rather than its quantity. Right of the bat, we can already see the difference of the two. Quantitative relates or focuses to different sizes or amount of things, it is always denoted by numerical values. Qualitative relates or focuses to the nature or standard of something,  rather than to its numerical value. It can be used to find patterns and averages, make predictions, test causal relationships, and generalize results to wider populations. Coming from the French word&nbsp; <strong>‘recerchier’,</strong> meaning “<strong>to go about seeking”</strong>, research is a creation of new knowledge or the use of existing knowledge in a new and creative way to generate new concepts. Research is done&nbsp; to support our arguments and conclusions, where it is from a textbook, academic journals, or online sources.</p><p><br></p><p>In doing research, it is important to <strong>gather and analyze data</strong> in order to gain an understanding of your conclusion. There are two primary categories of research, these are – Qualitative and Quantitative research. <strong><mark>Qualitative research</mark></strong>, from the word qualitative, implies an emphasis on the <strong>qualities</strong> of entities and on processes and meanings that are not experimentally examined or measured (if measured at all) in terms of quantity, amount, intensity, or frequency. Meaning, this type of research employs an array of qualitative methods to gather and analyze <strong>non-numerical data</strong>, such as words, images, and behaviors, and aims to generate in-depth and contextualized insights into the phenomena under study. On the other hand, <strong><mark>Quantitative research</mark> </strong>emphasizes objective measurements and the statistical, mathematical, or <strong>numerical analysis of data </strong>collected through polls, questionnaires, and surveys, or by manipulating pre-existing statistical data using computational techniques. Quantitative research results are based on larger sample sizes that are representative of the population and can usually be replicated or repeated, given its high reliability.</p><p><br></p><p>These two approaches complement each other and are often used together in mixed-methods research to provide a comprehensive understanding of a research. Marasigan</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Qualitative research</strong> is a situated activity that locates the observer in the world. It consists of a set of interpretive, material practices that makes the world visible. These practices transform the world. They turn the world into a series of representations, including field notes, interviews, conversations, photographs, recordings, and memos to the self. At this level, qualitative research involves an interpretive, naturalistic approach to the world. This means that qualitative researchers study things in their natural settings, attempting to make sense of, or to interpret, phenomena in terms of the meanings people bring to them.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Quantitative research</strong> is the methodology which researchers use to test theories about people’s attitudes and behaviors based on numerical and statistical evidence. Researchers sample a large number of users (e.g., through surveys) to indirectly obtain measurable, bias-free data about users in relevant <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://situations.It">situations.It</a> aims to determine the “what”, “where” &amp; “when” of the users’ needs &amp; problems – to help keep your project’s focus on track during development.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>The Difference Between Qualitative Research and Quantitative Research</strong></p><p><strong>-</strong>Qualitative and quantitative data are broad categories covering many research approaches and methods. While both share the primary aim of knowledge acquisition, quantitative research is numeric and objective, seeking to answer questions like when or where. On the other hand, qualitative research is concerned with subjective phenomena that can’t be numerically measured, like how different people experience grief. Having a firm grounding in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies will become especially important once I begin work on my dissertation or thesis toward the end of my academic program. At that point, I’ll need to decide which approach best aligns with my research question, a process that involves working closely with my Dissertation Chair.Qualitative research differs from quantitative research in its objectives, techniques, and design. Qualitative research aims to gain insights into phenomena, groups, or experiences that cannot be objectively measured or quantified using mathematics. Instead of seeking to uncover precise answers or statistics in a controlled environment like quantitative research, qualitative research is more exploratory, drawing upon data sources such as photographs, journal entries, video footage, and interviews.While quantitative research tackles questions from different angles compared to qualitative research. Instead of probing for subjective meaning by asking exploratory “how?” and “why?” questions, quantitative research provides precise causal explanations that can be measured and communicated mathematically. While qualitative researchers might visit subjects in their homes or otherwise in the field, quantitative research is usually conducted in a controlled environment. Marasigan</p><p><br/></p><p>Definition:</p><p><br/></p><p>A qualitative research is a type of research where in it explores and provides deeper insights into real-world problems. Unlike the quantitative research, it answers the hows and whys instead of how many or how much.&nbsp; This type of research helps in order to understand quantitative research more, and make hypothesis that may help the study.</p><p><br/></p><p>In the other hand, the quantitative research in simple words is an objective measurements, and the statistical, mathematical or numerical analysis of data, in which numerical data are used to measure social phenomena and to produce findings.</p><p><br/></p><p>Differences between qualitative and quantitative research:</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>There are a lot of differences between qualitative and quantitative research—mostly with their characteristics and approach. The main difference between the two is already apparent. The qualitative research tends to focus or answer the hows and whys of the study and by that, it is mostly used for explaining processes that may be difficult to quantify such as human behaviors. This type of research is also known as open-ended. Therefore, its design is always not linear or it can always develop. In the other hand, the quantitative research talks about the "how much" or "how many" in the study, or answers any processes through the exploration of numeric patterns. Since it is mostly about numbers, it uses methodologies such as questionnares, survey research and more. The qualitative research uses methodologies such us interviews, ethnographies, etc..&nbsp; Although some may say that quantitative is easier than the qualitative since it's less complex, and easier to get response or samples with—both help each other to make the study more clear, specific and precise. Just because these two are different, doesn't mean that they "compete" with each other. They balance each other well. For instance, qualitative research can expand and deepen the understanding of data obtained from quantitative research and at the same time, Quantitative research can provide factual, reliable outcome data that the qualitative research can use. Both qualitative and quantitative methods can help you resolve and answer the questions in your research. You just have to determine which of the two suits your research the most or if you are going to combine them in one research project. </p><p><br/></p><p>Now, what really is quantitative and qualitative research? <strong>Quantitative Research</strong> focuses on logical, numeric, and unchanging data. This is where convergent reasoning was applied; it is a type of reasoning that involves solving problems through following rules and logical reasoning. This type of research is suitable for large-population research, cause-and-effect, testing the hypothesis, and many more. </p><p><br/></p><p>Now that we've determined what quantitative research is, let's move on to qualitative research. <strong>Qualitative</strong> <strong>Research </strong>focuses more on what we see outside, commonly known as real-world problems. This type of research relies on methods such as one-on-one interviews, observation, and record-keeping. It aims to obtain a full picture of a matter according to the human perspective studied, relating to ideas, perceptions, opinions, or beliefs that cannot be measured by numbers. Qualitative research outlines five types of qualitative methods: phenomenological research, grounded theory, ethnography, case study, and narrative research. Qualitative research is characterized by flexibility in its structure and involves procedures such as emerging questions, data collection, analysis, and interpretation.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Quantitative research</strong> is a methodological approach characterized by a numeric or statistical analysis of data, aiming to quantify and measure phenomena objectively. It originated around 1250 A.D. and has been dominant in Western culture for creating meaning and new knowledge. This research method involves surveying, experimentation, and building upon existing theories. Quantitative research seeks to establish, confirm, or validate relationships between variables, contributing to the development of generalizations that enhance theory.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>DIFFERENCE BETWEEN QUALITATIVE RESEARCH AND QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH </strong></p><p><br/></p><p>As students, knowing the difference between these methods will surely help us learn new things. Researchers use two main methods to learn more about the world: qualitative and quantitative research. Both methods are good for explaining different parts of a topic. Quantitative research aims to find details and information by looking at numbers, such as surveys, experiments, and statistics. This helps researchers test ideas and come to conclusions. On the other hand, qualitative research looks at events and explores meanings and experiences in natural settings. To understand complex social situations better, researchers use methods like observations, interviews, and analyzing written content. Qualitative research adds personal experiences and stories to our understanding, making it deeper. Quantitative research, on the other hand, presents information in different ways using numbers. Research aims to support theories, teach action, and advance knowledge in a field of study. Students, professionals, or non-professionals must do research. There are two major types of research, Quantitative Research and Qualitative Research. Quantitative Research is used when a researcher seeks to answer the “what” or “how many” questions. It is an information that can be compared using numerical scale. Quantitative Research focuses on collecting and analyzing numerical data. &nbsp;It also uses methods like surveys, experiments, and statistics. This research requires a lot of respondents. While Qualitative Research defines traits or characteristics. It is an information in narrative form. It gathers an information that is not numbers like words, images, and sounds. It uses methods like interviews and observations. This research only requires few respondents. Qualitative research and quantitative research are two different types of research methods. Qualitative research is all about gathering non-numerical data and focuses on understanding people's thoughts, opinions, and experiences. This type of research uses methods like interviews, observations, and focus groups to gather information. On the other hand, quantitative research is all about gathering numerical data and focuses on measuring things like numbers, percentages, and statistics. This type of research uses methods like surveys, experiments, and statistical analysis. In simple terms, qualitative research is more about understanding the "why" behind things, while quantitative research is about measuring the "what" or "how many". Both types of research are important and can be used together to get a better understanding of a topic. Research is also helpful in our daily lives that we should not immediately believe in an information that we have learned it should be investigated and thought about. From the word itself, 're' meaning again and 'research' meaning to search, or simply "to search again." Research is collecting data and information, learning, and finding new things. There are different types of research but we will focus first on Qualitative and Qualitative, are you familiar with it? Qualitative, from its root word "quality" which means a characteristic or feature that someone or something has or something that can be noticed. While quantitative, from its root word "quantity" which means the amount or number of something, especially that can be measured. Qualitative research mainly expressed in numbers, graphs, or tables and analyzed through math and statistical analysis. While quantitative research mainly expressed in word and analyzed by summarizing, categorizing, and interpreting. Qualitative research is also requires many respondents since the outputs will be more statistically accurate with greater quantity of samples while quantitative research requires only few respondents. Even though both are used for observation or study, they still serve different objectives. Qualitative research mainly purpose is to gain an understanding of underlying reasons and motivations that answers the questions "how?", "why?" and "in what way?". It is formed from a deductive approach where emphasis is placed on the testing of theory,shaped by empiricist and positive philosophies. This type of research is associated with the natural, applied,formal, and social sciences, This strategy promotes the objective empirical investigation of observable phenomena to test and understand relationships by a range of quantifying methods and techniques,Reflecting on its broad utilization as a research strategy.</p><p><br/></p><p>• Qualitative Research aims to gather and analyze non numerical and descriptive data to gain an understanding of individuals' social reality, as well as their attitudes, beliefs, and mutation. It is typically involves in-depth interviews, focus groups, or observations in order to collect data that is rich in detail and context. It is useful when researchers want to understand the why/how people attach to their experiences or when they want to uncover the underlying reasons for people's behavior.</p><p><br/></p><p>Difference between Quantitative Research and Qualitative Research:</p><p><br/></p><p>The Quantitative research deals in numbers, logic, and an objective stance. Quantitative research focuses on numeric and unchanging data and detailed, convergent reasoning rather than divergent reasoning, That is why his type of research answers how many or how much. On the other  hand, The Qualitative Research answers hows and whys  for the reason that it is concerned with subjective phenomena that can't be numerically measured, like how different people experience grief. Marasigan</strong></p><p><br/></p><p>Research, meaning to investigate a problem to seek a solution while also investing in a study of materials to reach out to new conclusions that can correlate to the circumstances that we are in right now in the world. Though there are two methods of conducting research; Quantitative research and Qualitative research.</p><p><br/></p><p>- Quantitative Research - The researchers focus on quantitative research using numerical and statistical data to analyze and determine findings and truths by eliminating variables and limiting the impact of external factors. This analysis assists in identifying relationships and cause and effect between variables. The objective numbers and statistics are also used to validate the outcomes of researches and findings regarding a specific hypothesis, theory, or purpose of a study. This accuracy, validity, and credibility are imperative aspects of quantitative research that reinforce the validity and reliability of the findings.</p><p><br/></p><p>- Qualitative Research - The researchers focus on collecting, analyzing, and drawing inferences from a variety of data sources. These include oral accounts, documents, videos, photographs, and transcripts. This information is considered subjective data that provides a broad perspective of the situation, enabling comprehensive insights. Moreover, qualitative researchers rely on inductive reasoning, allowing flexibility and adaptability in the research. This makes qualitative data more subjective yet holistic and insightful as it explores the perspectives and lived experiences of the participants. This approach prioritizes qualitative data and understanding instead of numerical data, allowing more personal and meaningful analysis of the study.</p><p><br/></p><p>Quantitative and Qualitative methods are the essential ways of reaching evidence-based outcomes. While both methods have been utilized in research for a long time, they have gained more consideration in education specifically. In many projects, they are viewed as two necessary and complementary methods. The goal of this paper is to recognize the differences between quantitative and qualitative research methods. Firstly, quantitative research is the research method where researchers heavily rely on deductive reasoning. Meaning that researchers conduct hypotheses and formulate experiments to see the outcomes and probabilities of their studies to reach a certain point of their conducted hypothesis and make a conclusion out of the events. Whereas Qualitative research is the method where researchers heavily rely on inductive reasoning. Meaning that researchers are more exploratory in their studies, putting a range of limits on their inputs and being able to adapt to certain situations that tells them to revise their approach. However, this doesn’t mean that researchers cannot rely on deductive reasoning, which they use at some times just like how quantitative researchers can also rely on inductive reasoning. However, the point here is that qualitative research heavily relies on inductive reasoning and quantitative research heavily relies on deductive reasoning. Secondly, quantitative researchers focus on numbers and data to eliminate factors that could muddle things, so they manipulate individual data points with more certainty. This allows them to minimize the potential impact of external variables, ensuring that nothing interferes with what's being measured. In contrast to quantitative research, qualitative researchers who focus on qualitative methods think the research context is important and can be useful. They see it as a potential resource that can give depth to their findings. Hence, they don't try to eliminate it like quantitative researchers do. quantitative researchers want to minimize the impact of the research context, while qualitative researchers see the quality of a relevant factor and a potential resource. Lastly, qualitative research mainly uses participants for the input they provide. The researchers are gathering subjective data based on the participants’ personal experiences, perspectives, and opinions. The participants serve as data sources in qualitative research, providing information that the researcher can use for analysis and interpretation. On the other hand, the main role of participants in quantitative research is as a source of objective data that can be used to gauge the larger population. The participants provide responses to questions or tasks from the researcher, and the responses are compiled and analyzed to generate broader insights about the population. The results of quantitative research aim to make generalizable statements about the broader group, rather than the individual experiences and perspectives of the participants. In conclusion, both quantitative and qualitative research methods are essential in reaching evidence-based outcomes as they have gained significant consideration in the field of education. Researchers can obtain a more thorough and complete understanding of a phenomenon by utilizing both. By using the act of gathering, evaluating, and interpreting non-numerical data like language is known as <strong>Qualitative Research</strong>. Understanding how a person interprets and subjectively perceives their social reality is possible through qualitative study. Qualitative data consist of concepts, attributes, quotations, metaphors, symbols, and descriptions rather than numerical values. This method makes sense of human experiences and determines what these experiences mean to individuals through the use of written texts, interviews, artwork, photographs, and other resources. Some psychologists became dissatisfied with behaviorists' scientific research, which led to an interest in qualitative data.The goal of qualitative research is to comprehend people, groups, and cultures' social realities as closely as possible to how participants experience or perceive them. People and groups are therefore investigated in their natural environments.The practice of unbiasedly gathering and evaluating numerical data in order to characterize, forecast, or control relevant factors is known as <strong>Quantitative Research</strong>. In quantitative research, two groups of people are compared. You can measure a wide range of variables and conduct a wide variety of experiments with quantitative approaches. In order to help the researcher understand how the various data points connect to one another, graphs, pie charts, and other visual representations are typically used to clarify these comparisons. While qualitative methods ask “why” and “how”, quantitative methods ask “what” and “how much”. Therefore, it is important to always keep in mind the specific context in which quantitative methods like those used in psychology and other fields of sociology apply to human behavior. Put otherwise, very few, if any, human universals exist. In psychology, both qualitative and quantitative approaches are valuable. Qualitative approaches can delve deeper into the causes of group dynamics, while quantitative methods can assist in addressing concerns about what is occurring in a group and to what extent. Researchers in psychology can gain better insight into human thought and behavior by utilizing both techniques. It's more about the stories and meanings behind the data rather than just numbers.</p><p><br></p><p>On the other hand, quantitative research is all about the numbers. It involves collecting data in the form of numbers and using statistical analysis to find patterns and relationships. Surveys and experiments are common methods used.</p><p><br></p><p>Qualitative research is like exploring a jungle with a magnifying glass, uncovering all the little details and complexities, while quantitative research is like flying over the jungle in a helicopter, getting a bird's eye view of everything and looking for patterns from above.</p><p><br></p><p>Both have their strengths and weaknesses. Qualitative research is great for understanding things deeply, but it can be subjective and time-consuming. Marasigan</p><p><br/></p><p>Quantitative and qualitative research are two primary methods used in the field of research to gather and analyze data. They differ in their methodologies, types of data they gather and analytical approach. In quantitative research, it involves the collection of numerical data and focuses on quantifying variables, using statistical methods to analyze patterns and relationships. It usually collects data using structured methods like surveys, experiments or statistical analyses. It is more objective in nature which focuses on hard data and it is expressed in numerical terms such as percentage. This approach requires a larger sample size to ensure its reliability. For example, we can use a quantitative approach to measure what percentage of consumers prioritize price or any other variables when choosing a laundry detergent and perhaps assess how this percentage varies in different locations or demographic groups. On the other hand, qualitative research involves the collection and analysis of non-numerical data, expressed in words such as feelings, emotions, sounds, images or observations and other unquantifiable elements. It is more subjective in nature which focuses and aims to gain a deeper understanding of the complexity of variables from which we can formulate hypotheses. It uses data collection methods such as interviews, archived written information and observations to understand relationships between variables and this requires smaller sample size or respondents. For example, we can use a qualitative approach to explore what factors or product attributes customers consider when deciding which laundry detergent to purchase which can involve undertaking interviews to get their ideas, perceptions and feelings regarding laundry detergents. While quantitative research gives you the "what" with hard data, qualitative research gives you the "why" with insights and context. It is <strong>used to understand</strong> concepts, thoughts or experiences. This type of research enables you to gather <strong>in-depth insights</strong> on topics that are not well understood. It seeks to capture the richness and depth of human experiences, perspectives, and meanings within their natural context. Qualitative researchers often use techniques such as interviews, focus groups, participant observation, or content analysis to gather data. Analysis in qualitative research involves interpreting the collected data to identify patterns, themes, or underlying meanings, often employing methods such as thematic analysis, narrative analysis, or grounded theory. The goal is to generate insights, develop theories, or gain a deeper understanding of social processes, behaviors, or cultural phenomena.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Quantitative research</strong> tackles questions from different angles compared to qualitative research. Instead of probing for subjective meaning by asking exploratory “how?” and “why?” questions, <strong>quantitative research</strong> provides precise causal explanations that can be measured and communicated mathematically. While qualitative researchers might visit subjects in their homes or otherwise in the field, <strong>Quantitative research</strong> is usually conducted in a controlled environment. Instead of gaining insight or understanding into a subjective, context-dependent issue, as is the case with <strong>qualitative research</strong>, the goal is instead to obtain objective information, such as determining the best time to undergo a specific medical procedure.<strong> Quantitative research</strong> is typically carried out via tools (such as questionnaires) instead of by people (such as a researcher asking interview questions). Another significant difference is that, in <strong>qualitative</strong> studies, researchers must interpret the data to build hypotheses. In-depth focus groups, interviews, and or observations are frequently used in this kind of study to gather information that is rich in context and detail.</p><p><br/></p><p>QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH </p><p>Analyzing and gathering numerical data in order to find sequences, compute averages, assess patterns, and extract general conclusions are all part of quantitative research. It is applied in many disciplines, such as the social and scientific sciences. Statistical methods are used in quantitative data analysis to process and evaluate numerical data. </p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>QUANTITATIVE AND QUALITATIVE ESSAY </p><p><br/></p><p>Qualitative research and quantitative research are special factors in doing research or a specific study; these two can be used by their functions. Quantitative and qualitative research have many differences when it comes to research. Quantitative, by its name, is focused on numerical data, while qualitative is focused on non-numerical data and is more subjective than quantitative, which is objective. Quantitative research is more focused on numerical data, which means it involves analyzing and gathering numerical data. This kind of research may be used by performing statistical, mathematical, and computational techniques. Being able to depict the results in numerical form is one of the main characteristics. After analyzing the structured observation and having a good understanding of it, it will be possible to predict the future of a product or service, establish casual relationships, and make changes accordingly. In quantitative research, it uses a structured method called data collection, which is typically conducted on large samples representing the entire population or group. Some characteristics of quantitative research are structured tools, sample size, prior studies, and generalization of results. And now, in qualitative research, this type of research is more subjective and explores and provides deeper insights or explanations about real-world problems. Compared to quantitative research, qualitative research helps generate hypotheses as well as further investigate and understand the data. In qualitative research, it gathers participants’s experiences, perceptions, opinions, behaviors, beliefs, etc. This means the opinion or experience of the participant is more important in qualitative research than in quantitative research. This type of research is also open-minded, meaning that any questions can be asked as long as they are related to the topic or the study. This is one of the strengths of qualitative research because it has the ability to explain processes and patterns of human behavior that can be difficult to quantify. Qualitative research also uses several techniques to collect and analyze data, including interviews, focus groups, and observation. Here,&nbsp; the interviews may be unstructured, with open-ended questions on a topic, and the interviewer adapts the responses. Qualitative research aids in the generation of hypotheses as well as the further investigation and understanding of quantitative data, as opposed to gathering numerical data points or intervening or introducing treatments as in quantitative research. Qualitative research collects the views, behaviors, and experiences of people. Rather than addressing how many or how much, it addresses hows and whys. It may be designed as a stand-alone study using only qualitative data, or it may be a component of a mixed-methods study using both qualitative and quantitative data. The reader is introduced to some basic terms, principles, and applications of qualitative research through this review.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Quantitative Research</strong></p><p><br/></p><p>Now for the quantitative research, a logical method that emphasizes testing theories, informed by positivist and empiricist ideologies, gives rise to quantitative research, which is a research strategy that quantifies the collecting and analysis of data. Establishing and applying mathematical theories, models, and hypotheses associated with phenomena is the aim of quantitative research. Since it establishes the essential link between empirical observation and the mathematical expression of quantitative connections, measurement is a crucial component of quantitative research.</p>]]></description>
