ABC Mouse is another program that can be used for grades Kindergarten through third grade. This site also is academically rich because it too is aligned with the Common Core State Standards in English language arts. It has over 850 lessons and 10,000 activities, so there is always something that students can explore and use. Another advantage is that it tracks student's learning and provides feedback. The lessons and activities are carefully designed to progress according to the student's input and achievement levels, so students are learning is customized based on their levels which makes this site great for all students.

The SIPPS Phonics Program can be used for grades Kindergarten through twelve grade. SIPPS which stands for Systematic Instruction in Phonological Awareness, Phonics, and Sight Words, is research-based; thus, its use in the classroom is informed by the settled science of reading instruction. I would use this program together as a class or during explicit instrution. The program includes differentiated learning which is great because it is customized learning and is centered on UDL beliefs so students see value in the work that they are doing. The learning the students are doing is relevant to who they are. The program provides a structured literacy approach to foundational skills instruction through explicit instructional routines focused on phonological awareness, multisyllabic decoding, and sight words. This program has had success in supporting all students but has had standout success with students who struggle with decoding, including students with dyslexia.

Starfall is a great program that can be used for grades kindergarten through third grade. This site is great academically because the activities on this site are research-based and align with Individual and Common Core State Standards in English language arts. The reason why I believe it will help students is that the activities emphasize phonics and common sight words through exploration, play, and positive reinforcement. Students are engaged and are thinking critically to complete the activities. The site is also proved to be especially effective for special education, homeschooling, and English language development. Therefore this site can be used for all students making it adaptable for all.

Lexia Core5 Reading supports differentiated literacy instruction for students in grades Kindergarten through fifth grade. One reason why I was drawn to Lexia is that it is a research-proven program. It provides personalized learning and provides feedback with the data and student-specific resources students need for individual or small-group instruction. This is a program I would use for direct instruction. Students start with different activities as it assesses each student then as it collects data, the program personalizes the experience for each student based on their strengths and weaknesses. Its usability, customization, and feedback are big successes for the student and the teacher and is why it made it into my toolbox kit.

Imagine Language & Literacy is best suited for students from kindergarten through sixth grade. It delivers explicit, targeted instruction to each student through personalized learning paths that continually adapt based on performance. After an initial placement test, ongoing predictive and evaluative checkpoints ensure students are working in their zone of proximal development. Strategic scaffolding and support further personalize the learning experience for English learners and striving readers. This program is great because while students work independently through adaptive learning pathways, teachers can assign online activities to individual students based on areas of unfinished learning and deliver small-group instruction. Another bonus is with the data it collects, teachers can use data to form differentiated groups and instruction. Lastly, it is proven to increase scores for NWEA, Smarter Balanced, and STAAR Assessments.

Its use of UDL strategies allows students to engage within the reading. This site also has a slew of songs from Jack Hartman useful for a wide range of phonics skills.
