Social Construction of meaning.

Vygotsky explains that adults help children learn by attaching meaning to the object and events around the two of them.
For example: Family goes out for a road trip and children is
in car and sees a cow and is asking what that is. Well parents will tell the
children what he sees. At the end they have a discussion about the cow.

An activity that can be use for this stage is have conversation with the children at home and school. Read a book that you and that children had experience and after talk about it and bring back the memory, this of course have to be with older children about 8 or 9.

Mediated Learning is where you can help them by discussing with the children to make sense of an event. IF the children hear what the adult has to say, they repeat the words and can learn.
Example: Mom and son having a conversation and the mom ask the children question so he can think if what to say and the conversation starts there. Children always ask question and is good for us to ask, what do you think? But, at the end tell them what you think so they can take that information.

The process of social activities evolve into internal mental activities. This is where they see people having a conversation self talk for directions. They see this and then eventually they start having self talk and start giving directions.

They see this on adults and it can also be seen on peers.

Example: Having an arguments with a peer can help a children process the information.

Activities: I think this work with who, what, when, where and how questions. This could be an argument of a book in class and we can argue this as a class by asking who, what, when, where and how.

A task that a learner (student) can perform with the guidance and help of another person. It could be a very difficult talk and with the knowledge they have can be hard, but there's always some there to help.

Example: Children needs to learn how to tie their shoes. There's mom and dad there to help. You can help step by step until they understand nd do it alone.

Activity: Giving a hard project to take home so family can help. I think this is a good idea because they're building their knowledge to harder task and by the end of the day they can do it individually.

They need to know language and that's why their family is there to teach them. First they learn by phonology (sound words). Second, semantics which is the meaning of thousands of words. Third, syntax to combine words t make a phrase or a sentence. For example, asking them at you age, "I want water." Lastly, pragmatics e social convention to communicate effectively with others.

Second Language:
Having a second language is good because you have more cultures and more opportunity to engage and to able to learn more.
Having greater phonological awareness, higher scores on test, focus attention, and creative thinking.
