She was self taught when it came to education till the age of twenty all her knowledge came from her dedication to seeking it. Due to the beliefs at the time, women were inferior, therefore they weren't worthy of knowledge. De La Cruz constantly had to hide her knowledge. At the age of 8 she wrote her first poem.

De La Cruz always wanted to dress as a boy, so that she could attend University. De La Cruz wanted to study scripture and theology (study of religious beliefs). One of the biggest things that was preventing her from that was Aristotle's view (western views). Aristotle believed that women were inferior, therefore they weren't worthy of knowledge. Theology couldn't be studied by women, so De La Cruz worked to learn it herself.

De La Cruz held many beliefs and theories, and I love and have interest in many of them! Some of my favorites would have to be her belief on free will, and diversity of opinions.

De La Cruz believed that God's best gift was allowing us to have free will. Which in a sense ties into my second one, Diversity of Opinions.

Diversity of Opinions: De La Cruz, explains how it's possible of us to all have the ability to have different opinions, that can all be defended with reasonings.

De La Cruz's Poem "Hombres necios" which is translated as "You Foolish Men".

This poem was about how men had illogical views, that simple were made to just criticize women. De La Cruz shut that down.

The biggest influence that De La Cruz had was her fight to free women from the things that kept them confined. She ultimately did a lot of us women now in days! The first two projects helped me a ton. I wrote about De La Cruz, because in a male dominate field we rarely get the women's perspective. De La Cruz does that well, and I enjoyed reading her work. I had no knowledge about De La Cruz prior, so those assignment were my whole foundation.

How can you apply the knowledge you gained as you completed CP1 and CP2 to your own life and to ways in which you can contribute purposefully to the well-being of at least two of the following?

Before learning about De La Cruz I would have to say that I had my own personal opinions about some of the things she talked about, initially agreeing with her. Although, it may not be so direct now, many men still think and believe in these ways. I would apply it to the people of world, by simply saying don't limit yourself. Which is Something that De La Cruz took seriously.

The second one would be to social justice, we all are equal in the eyes of GOD. NOTHING can go against that, stay true to yourself and always work to elevate from the position you are currently at!
