The Parisians broke through and released the prisoners who were held there. The commander of the Bastille and five guards were killed during this event. The Storming of the Bastille ended up being the Independence Day for France.

Some of the arrested victims were falsely accused by neighbors. The trials were hasty and not fair, and many died because of this. 300,000 people were arrested and 17,000 were actually executed. The execution was through a machine called the guillotine. Napoleon escapes Elba and returns to France during a conference. Napoleon returns, but he loses the Battle of Waterloo and is exiled again. This new government was pretty weak, but it lasted for 4 years until Napoleon overthrew it.
