         <title>Storming of the Bastille July 14th, 1789</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Storming of the Bastille was when 800 Parisians assembled outside the Bastille. The Parisians broke through and released the prisoners who were held there. The commander of the Bastille and five guards were killed during this event. The Storming of the Bastille ended up being the Independence Day for France.<br><br></div>]]></description>

They vowed to create a constitution, and they represented the people of France.          <title>Reign of Terror September 5th, 1793 </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Reign of Terror was a horrendous event when countless of people were executed. It was a way to bring out fear according the chief architecture, Maximilian Robespierre. Any person who resisted revolution, or they were accused of resisting were arrested. Some of the arrested victims were falsely accused by neighbors. The trials were hasty and not fair, and many died because of this. 300,000 people were arrested and 17,000 were actually executed. The execution was through a machine called the guillotine. The guillotine was fast and efficient compared to an axe.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

Members of the National Convention turned on the Committee of Public Safety. Robespierre was executed and executed while many other radicals power fell.          <title>Meeting of the National Assembly | June 17th, 1789</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The National Assembly was made because the people of the third estate didn’t have a say despite being the biggest population out of all the estates. They wanted more say in the government. The third estate had to pay taxes, and work hard for food. It was especially hard when there was high taxes on bread. Bread was so expensive that bakeries were robbed, and many people were killed. When the third-estate talked about this during the estates-general meeting, the other estates didn’t care. The Third estate decided to make the National Assembly.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Napoleon had an amazing reputation thanks to his victorious wins in wars. He became a political leader, and he overthrown the Directory (bicameral government at the time). Napoleon became the consul and after two years, he became emperor. Napoleon even crowns himself emperor to show power.</div>]]></description>

         <title> The Downfall of Napoleon April 12th, 1814</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Napoleon, Emperor of France, began making many mistakes. He lost the Attack on Russia, so Napoleon steps out of power when he loses the battle of nations and is exiled to Elba. When Napoleon abdicates from power, King Louis XVIII becomes the King. The new king begins taking away all the reforms Napoleon made. The French feared the King will bring back the old regime. The French began to cry for Napoleon.  Napoleon  escapes Elba and returns to France during a conference. Napoleon returns, but he loses the Battle of Waterloo and is exiled again. Even though Napoleon died, he is well known and admired in French today.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Before the French Revolution, France was divided into 3 estates. Clergy (1st Estate), Nobles (2nd Estate), and the Third Estate (Peasants, Middle-Class, and urban-workers. The Clery and Nobles had a lot more power compared to the Third Estate. The Third Estate pretty much carried the whole team by doing all the work. The social classes were very unfair making the third estate fight for social equality.</div>]]></description>
