So in Ancient Egypt it just started off as a lake then a patch of sand appeared with a god already on it and his name was Atum then the interesting part is that he coughed up to other gods their names where Shu the god of air and Tefnut the god of sun. In Ancient Egypt they believed in the afterlife and they would weigh your soul and if you weighed more than a feather something bad would happen to you in the afterlife.
