         <description><![CDATA[<div>I think they are in black and white because the author wanted to emphasize the dark theme. The book is sad, and since we know that its about the holocaust is a dark/bad time he chose to make it black and white.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The images wouldn't be better if they were in color because it would make the theme seem more bright. Since the animals probably died once they were captured it, seems more fitting for the illustrations to be in black and white.</div>]]></description>
