For students who want a real challenge, I recommend William Shakespeare's famous tragedy MacBeth. In this play, the main character MacBeth is told by three witches that he will become king, and he lies and kills until that prophesy comes true. It is a play about destiny, karma, and self-fulfilling prophesy. If you choose to read it, I strongly encourage you to use the MacBeth study guide on sparknotes.com to help understand the story.
