The difference between a boom town and a ghost town is, a boom town is a town is a vary quickly built town that is right next to where gold is and a lot of them where abandoned because all of the gold their was drained of gold and other things they wanted and a ghost town is a town that was abandoned and no people live there. A ghost town could have and most likely a boom town that they left.

I think ghost towns were once boom towns they got abandoned because there was no gold there. I think ghost towns and boom towns were very similair because they both had buildings and they both had or have people in them. I think thats the diffrence between those two.
