They'd have to do forced labor for the Germans. The judenrat controlled lives in the ghettos.There would be multiple families living in one small apartment with bad plumbing and no heat. The Germans limited how much food Jews could buy so everyone was starving. Because of those conditions people would die from diseases or kill themselves.
