Without setting aside time to plan events and end of yearn shows we would be in a mess and we wouldn't be able answer students question as to where they need to be at what times and what they need to be doing]]> 2018-06-13 15:33:59 UTC https://padlet.com/taylorc2/musicqltjuly/wish/267040270 https://padlet.com/taylorc2/musicqltjuly/wish/267041006 what hasn't gone well this year is the new finance system it has hindered the ability of ordering resources or hiring of equipment as with before the process was reasonably quick it seems like there is even more running round to do and finance are asking us to make all the changes and add in all of the information instead of doing it themselves this is now taking up more of our time when we could be working with the students and it is also delaying the arrival of equipment that the students need for shows. i feel that finance questioning us on our expertise in our area is very hypocritical as technicians it is our job to find the suitable equipment at the lowest price as it is our budget that we are spending for finance to then question something our manager has already approved and when it is the cheapest quote anyway is wasting our time and finances time by them trying to find it cheaper and being unsuccessful and it has now also delayed the purchase further. i feel that an improvement would be for finance to ask if we want them to try and find it cheaper or to just go with the quotes we have received as if the money is there in the budget and it has been agreed by the manager there is no need for finance to intervene ]]> 2018-06-13 15:38:12 UTC https://padlet.com/taylorc2/musicqltjuly/wish/267041006
