Weather is a state of the atmosphere. Weather is influenced by oceans, land surfaces and ice sheets. Together they form the climate system. Climate change is the change of properties in the climate system. Climate change is occasionally due to natural processes. These natural processes can include the suns radiation, volcanoes, or human influences.

If climate change increases it will cause heat to rise around the globe. There would also be many droughts and heat waves, harming humans and habitats. Frost free season will grow due to the heat trapping gas, caused by higher levels of carbon dioxide. These storms, heat waves and drought will slowly harm and destroy our planet.

What does climate change do to our oceans?

When greenhouse gases trap energy from the sun in our ocean, surface levels increase. The warmer waters create bigger storms which can damage houses in coastal communities. Our oceans influence the weather, meaning bigger storms, caused by heat in the ocean, severely damages homes and people have lost lives.Increasing levels of dissolved carbon make the water more acidic. Increased acidity makes it more difficult for certain sea creatures, such as corals and shellfish, to build their skeletons and shells. These effects could possibly alter the productivity of the oceans' ecosystems.

Greenhouse gases are transparent to radiation from the sun, but they can block radiation from the sun from leaving the earth's atmosphere. When the greenhouse gases trap the radiation, it sends heat waves towards earth. This contributes to air pollution which is a big part of climate change.

Now that you know the damages that climate change can cause, we need to find a way to put a stop to it. It has been shown and proven that greenhouse gases are the biggest contributor to climate change. Due to this, we must find a way to lower the levels of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere. Some ways that we can do this are, using less energy, try using led bulbs or solar power instead of coals and gases. Eat less meat, to produce meat, farmers must raise farm animals. When cattle digest meat they burp, letting out methane, which is a powerful greenhouse gas. If we all eat a partly plant based diet, higher levels of carbon dioxide would be kept out of the atmosphere for at least 30 years. Travel without greenhouse gases. Humans rely on fossil fuels to get them from place to place, such as gasoline and jet fuel. But if we start to resort to using other forms of transportation such as walking or riding a bike, there will be less greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Climate change is happening and it is not stopping anytime soon. So we must work together to stop climate change.
