1. Ví dụ (trước khi thay đổi và sau khi thay đổi):

   • Trước khi thay đổi: “I don’t like being forced to watch commercials.” (Tôi không thích bị ép xem quảng cáo.)

   • Sau khi thay đổi: “I don’t like commercials being forced upon me.” (Tôi không thích quảng cáo bị ép buộc lên tôi.)

   • Trước khi thay đổi: “Susan hates not being told the truth.” (Susan ghét không được nói sự thật.)

   • Sau khi thay đổi: “Susan hates the truth not being told to her.” (Susan ghét sự thật không được nói với cô ấy.)

2. Kết cấu:

   • Dạng thụ động của “to V” (Passive Infinitive): “to be” + quá khứ phân từ (past participle) của động từ.

   • Dạng thụ động của “V-ing” (Passive Gerund): “being” + quá khứ phân từ (past participle) của động từ.

3. Ý nghĩa/công dụng:

   • Cả hai dạng thụ động này đều giúp tập trung vào hành động thay vì người thực hiện hành động.

   • Chúng thường được sử dụng trong các câu hỏi, phủ định hoặc khẳng định để thể hiện sự tương tác giữa hành động và người thực hiện.

ex:

- Before change: "They expect him to finish the project."

- After change (passive): "He is expected to finish the project."

In this example, the active sentence "They expect him to finish the project" is transformed into the passive form "He is expected to finish the project."

• Passive Form of "V-ing" (Gerund)

ex:

- Before change: "Everyone noticed him stealing the money."

- After change (passive): "He was noticed stealing the money."

Here, the active sentence "Everyone noticed him stealing the money" becomes the passive form "He was noticed stealing the money."

• Passive Form of "To + V" (Infinitive):

Subject + expect + object + to + base form of verb

+ Passive Structure:
Object + to be + past participle of verb + (by + subject)
