I would use the fact that she listens to music that isn't musical "perfection."  If my dad said it I know he doesn't have an issue with anything I listen to, as long as I'm listening to something I enjoy.

My dad doesn't argue much about my music, because he already knows how I feel about it. They both come to the conclusion that if they don't have to hear it then it's "okay". They think that because I listen to "bad songs" that I'll do "bad things". But that isn't true.
