Health, to me, means a well-rounded state of well-being that covers physical, emotional, and mental aspects. It signifies the capacity to perform at my best in all areas of life. I feel healthy when I enjoy quality time with loved ones and maintain good physical health by staying illness-free. My personal well-being also centres on self-care, which can be activities like watching a show, cooking, reading, or listening to music.

Irish dancing, like storytelling, and traditional music, is deeply ingrained in Ireland's history, culture, and heritage. Given that a large portion of ancient Irish culture was based on oral traditions, its true beginnings are still a mystery.

However, it is known that the Druids and Celts brought dancing to Ireland. Druids performed circular dances around sacred trees, and the Celts engaged in group dances to commemorate the "Aonach".

English country and French/Latin Quadrille dances were major influences on the development of the modern Irish dance, which began to take shape in the 17th century. This era also marked the rise of Irish traditional music, linking these cultural expressions.

https://emerald-heritage.com/blog/2018/how-irish-dancing-was-invented#:~:text=The%20beginnings%20of%20what%20we,French%2FLatin%20style%20Quadrille%20dances

A holistic perspective of health that took into account physical, emotional, and spiritual health was at the core of ancient Irish healing practices such as herbal medicine, shamanism, and ritual healing.

Ireland and North America were connected to Europe until around 60 million years ago, when Europe began to split apart. As a result this caused deep cracks in the earth's surface that allowed molten rock and lava to emerge. The Giants’ causeway was created when rivers of solidified basalt were moulded over time by erosion. In the 18th century, a myth emerged linking the Causeway to the legendary hero Finn MacCool. According to legend, Irish giant Finn McCool built the causeway to confront Scottish giant Benandonner, who destroyed it after their clash, leaving the unique landscape we see today. Overtime, this take has served as the basis for several folktales and legends.

https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/northern-ireland/giants-causeway/history-of-giants-causeway

Art was influenced by the troubles, a period of conflict in Northern Ireland and influenced many artists in their work. Just outside Derry, in the Bogside, massive murals vividly recall the Troubles. This area witnessed tragic events like the "Bloody Sunday Massacre" and the "Battle of the Bogside." One prominent mural on Free Derry Corner, known as the "Petrol Bomber," portrays a boy in a gas mask in Republican attire holding a milk bottle-turned-petrol bomb. Created in 1994 by a local artist collective, it marked the 25th anniversary of the conflict and the start of peace talks. These murals serve as permanent reminders of the history in Northern Ireland.

https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/the-free-derry-corner-murals

Social Determinants: migrants/refugees in Australia

Three social determinants affecting migrant and refugee health in Australia include access to healthcare, housing, basic amenities, and the environment, as well as social support and inclusion. The access to healthcare is greatly impacted by language barriers, cultural differences, and financial constraints, making it challenging for migrants and refugees to navigate the healthcare system effectively. Access to suitable housing and basic amenities can also be hindered by similar barriers, creating difficulties in finding safe and affordable living conditions. Social support plays a critical role in integration, as language barriers and cultural differences can make social networking and community connections challenging. Building connections and fostering a sense of belonging are crucial for overcoming isolation and facilitating a smoother transition to a new life in.

Australia.https://www.who.int/health-topics/social-determinants-of-health#tab=tab_1
