Women in the U.S. were expected to go back to their traditional jobs after the war, But they didn't wanna go back to their traditional jobs. They were very unhappy being housewives and moms, There was a lot of gender discrimination so these women started to stand up and start things like the Equal pay act which helped them get equal rights in employment. To help with discrimination the civil rights act of 1964 addressed gender discrimination. In 1966 feminists founded the Nation Organization For Women which campaigned for the ban of any discrimination, This sadly didn't happen because the Equal Rights Amendment hadn't been ratified by the states.

U.S. Hispanic Americans in the 1960s used nonviolent strategies to fight for immigrant workers, Many U.S. Americans didn't support immigrant workers so they wanted a change. Many also struggled with education, housing, and jobs. Because many people were buying stuff from California they started the Grape Boycott, People should be buying things from immigrant workers. Because they also had many problems with housing, education, and jobs.. they made an organization called La Raza Unida it helped them get better jobs, and housing and even helped them get elected to public office. For education students in los angeles led a strike in 1968 for education reform.

Soon after that many others started getting treated poorly by police and people. So people started protesting for George and many others.
