One of the current problems over racism is with the basketball team, the clippers. A recording tells of Donald Sterling (the coach) Talking to his wife with a lot of racial comments about how she was seen with a black. This quickly went worldwide, and he was quickly banned from all of basketball, along with a bad image. What relives me is that almost no one agrees with him, so I guess racism is not as bad as in the 1900’s, but I do not think it should even exist in the first place!!!!!

If you do not know what racism is then, well, GREAT, but sadly, I have to explain it to you so you can understand this Padlet. Racism is when some random guy /girl insult another guy/girl over where they came from, other their skin color.

The meaning of Racism is often something that people do not understand very clearly. They usually think of it as another insult, like "jerk", or "idiot." but really, it is way worse. Things like the N word represent the times where people struggle every single day, with a contoured image, so you calling a bully that is the worst thing in the world. Some people think of it as a joke, and i think their should be a fine for people like them

Their are endless reasons why someone could say these words. They could be angry, they may not think it is THAT bad, they might have heard someone say it and then say it because it is "cool". Honestly their are SO many ways that people say this, just like any insult. But rarely is it used for the real reason, which in a way is a good thing. But the fact that we-the "intelligent" humans-saying things like this, is just plain stupid. This is no plain insult. It is a crime ( in my opinion.).

Luckily, the next article I looked at was pretty positive. It puts you in perspective of someone see another person making a racist remark, and it shows you how to deal with it. It says to set a positive example, keep calm, and mainly tells them it is not okay. It also says that younger people usually do not know how hurtful the words can be, so explain that to them. It makes me think if we might be more innocent that I thought…..but it still exists, so I guess NOT!

The shooting

The last current issue is the shooting of Troyvon Martin. Some people say the shooting was out of self defense, while other people say that it was out of racism. This is kind of scary if either one is right. If it was out of self defense, then it is horrible that people think that such a thing can happen. If it IS out of racism, well then it is self explanatory of why it is cruelly bad. This is an example that huge activities over racism still-in fact- exist. It is very horrible.
