Harley Streten is an independent artist from Australia. He produces music in the dance/electronic genre and is known for his forward-thinking experimental style of production (pianity.com, n.d.). Combining woozy synths, experimental rhythms and vocal chops (Steinberg, 2019, para. 3), he managed to win himself multiple awards, including two Grammys for his albums Flume and Skin (pianity.com, n.d.). Flume doesn’t box himself into any particular genre, and instead decides to call his unique combination of elements “Flumestep.” Flume says his inspirations for his early music were Tokimonsta, J Dilla and Flying Lotus (radarnewmusic, 2012, 0:27, 1:06).
