         <description><![CDATA[<p>We would like to warmly welcome our newest Members to RVS:</p><p><br/></p><p><a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://andysmanclub.co.uk/"><strong>Andy's Man Club</strong></a><strong> </strong>want to eliminate the stigma surrounding Men's mental health and create a non-judgmental safe space when men can talk openly about the storms they are going through in their lives. A new branch is to open in Aldershot very soon. </p><p><br/></p><p><a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.creativeresponsearts.org/"><strong>Creative Response Arts</strong></a> is a small Farnham based charity offering arts-based workshops for people experiencing mental health, learning and physical difficulties.  In their central Farnham studios, practising artists work collaboratively with participants from across Surrey and the surrounding areas, guiding and facilitating the creation of paintings, drawings, sculpture and ceramics.  </p>]]></description>

         <title>Surrey Youth Arts and Culture Festival                        1st - 2nd November</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>This November, Surrey Arts are looking for local groups and cultural organisations who may be interested in performing, hosting a workshop or having a stand to share information about their work. </p><p><br/></p><p>They are working in partnership with Surrey Heath Borough Council and a wide range of cultural organisations to deliver the Surrey Youth Arts and Culture Festival in Camberley.          <description><![CDATA[<p>Rushmoor and Hart Community Safety will be delivering “Community in Motion” active bystander training on <strong>18<sup>th</sup> September 2024</strong> at <strong>13:30</strong> in the Wellington Room at Rushmoor Borough Council.</p><p><br></p><p>It is not about being responsible for resolving serious conflicts or about placing yourself at risk, it is about <strong>having the ability to recognise and challenge those unacceptable behaviours when identified</strong> - and from there identify the best course of action to support someone in need, whether that be by diversion, providing sanctuary, simply connecting or signposting.</p><p><br></p><p>By the end of the training, participants will be able to:</p><ul><li><p>Discuss the extent of gender-based violence in England and Wales</p></li><li><p>Discuss the role of bystanders in the prevention of abuse</p></li><li><p>Identify a range of tools that can be used to safely support/challenge others</p></li><li><p>Describe ways to support individuals who may disclose abuse</p><p><br></p></li></ul><p>This training is suitable for front line staff and those who regularly engage with customers whether in the office or out in public.</p><p><br></p><p>Please book a spot by contacting <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="mailto:communitysafety@rushmoor.gov.uk">communitysafety@rushmoor.gov.uk</a>. </p><p> </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The second ever Big Help Out took place this year across the weekend of 7-9 June to tie in with the end of Volunteers' Week. Eligible projects include:</p><ul><li><p>Greening areas with new trees and plants</p></li><li><p>Encouraging physical activities like walking and cycling</p></li><li><p>Supporting arts, culture, and heritage activities</p></li></ul><p><br>Funding is awarded on a first-come-first-served basis.
