1. Naive: "It is my money. My family won't miss a few rupees." >> This story shows her being naive throughout half of the book. She has no clue of what is going to happen to her until the moment when it actually starts off in "happiness house". She was too naive and was taken advantage of it very dearly.

2. Determined: "Here at the happiness House there are dirty men, old men, rough men, fat men, drunken men, sick men. I will be with them all. any man, every man. I will become Monica. I will do whatever it takes to get out of here." >> She finds out that see is in this horrible hell place and she figures out that the only way to get back home, see her family is to do what everyone else does. Even though it goes against her morals, she does it to get out of this never-ending nightmare.

3. Strong Willed: "What she does not realize is that I already know hunger." >> Mumtaz beats her down to break her and when she fails, she starts to starve her. Lakshmi comes from a place where hunger is common. She is so strong willed that even the beating couldn't break her, and after that when Mumtaz planned of starving her, she accepted it gladly because she knows she is strong enough to endure what is about to come next without breaking down.

As the video shows there are stereotypes on gender all around us. For example, on the first ad, the guy is screaming while he is riding a roller coaster. This automatically makes him "less manly". Because of our community being shaped in one way with these social construct, he simply accepts that he was being less manly by screaming. His friends talk to him about that and instead of disagreeing with it, he just simply accepts it. This is what out society has turned out to be. As the video comes to an end, it displays women cleaning the house while her rest of the family goes out. Women are not just someone who makes food for the family or someone who does cleaning all the time. You can either be the person who spreads negativity all around with social construct, or you can choose to be the change this world needs. Don't let stereotypes social construct ruin the way you live your life.

This picture I found on google is an excellent example of a challenge against social construct on gender roles. Out community has its mind fixed on the fact that only women can be nurses or secretaries. If a man does this type of job, it would look "odd" or not very accepting. This picture challenges that because being is a nurse is a difficult job. It is a career with unlimited opportunities that will challenge your intelligence, courage, and skill. If all women are seen as weak and someone who is only as an assistant, then those three traits up there (intelligence, courage, and skill) must be nothing but the bunch of words.

 "Slavery Still Exists"

Human trafficking is just modern day slavery. Many people don't realize this but any person who gets kidnapped or gets forced into this situation loses their birth right completely. Slavery was banned in the world long time ago but human trafficking came out as even more dangerous thing. People lose control over their life once they get into this hell, they can't eat or sleep on time. This connects back to the book Sold because Lakshmi gets thrown into a room with nothing on it, left alone, scared, hungry, and helpless. She was treated no less than a slave, even worse, she was treated as an animal. Stop human trafficking and stop the modern slavery that is still going on in this world.
