However, this brings me to my next point branding can be a bad thing for the consumer who wants to get that "feel good/look good" feeling over somebody else who doesn't have that brand name item. That person who didn't buy big in brands may have saved 20+ euro by not buying big on brands and got something of great quality. They can then go and buy something discretionary with their saved money e.g the new Premier League ball.
