Post-Hardcore Intro.

This genre, like many, can include a broad number of groups. In this Padlet I will discuss more modern bands. The genre, who is targeted at teenagers, has a fast tempo, heavy bass., and loud dynamics. Usually the music is written by the members themselves, such as, Pierce The Veil. Although the genre is a Rock genre, it does not limit itself. Post-Hardcore allows more room for creativity. The fans of this type of music are usually ones who are listening because it makes them feel like they are not alone (or because they just like it) . It's a type of "sad" music. The genre is angry and lets out the frustration of different emotions. The music by some artists have surprisingly been influenced by the likes of Jazz, Dubstep, and Funk. While the genre mostly with emotions, the genre also questions society and how we interpret it. In this Padlet I will explore the genre, Post-Hardcore, in ways I never thought of and maybe I will like the genre in the end.

P.S I listening to the entire album, "Collide with the Sky" by Pierce The Veilm, while doing this Padlet. At the end of this I will give my final thoughts.

In middle school I was listening to:All-American Rejects, Fall out Boy, and some Hip-Hop. When I was introduced to this song, I did not know what to think. It was rock but not the kind of rock I was used to, but then singers started to scream. From that day forward I knew, whatever it was, I did not like it.

The quote is an example of how the music can be "sad". While I didn't think the genre sounded sad at first, I now realize the lyrics are emotional and inspire to keep pushing.

It's not that bad

After listening to the album, "Collide with the Sky" by Pierce the Veil, I can say that the music is not bad at all. If you listen to the lyrics and tap your foot to the beat, then the music is actually quite enjoyable. However, I probably still won't have the genre on my playlists. Overall, I have found a new respect for the genre. Thumbs up from me.
