Internal Bias

I felt there was some internal bias in my research. I used a demographic of middle age adults who were a rather liberal group of sources therefor swaying my research more towards my views . Which I do agree with, especially when it comes to stereotypical Americans. The viewpoints from other counties about Americans seems to align with mine. Of course I do not believe all Americans fit into these specific stereotypes, but the majority of us do.

With the current political situation in the United States, the world is seeing us in a negative position. With the the administrations relations with other countries on ice we are solidifying perceptions of world views. The president has made changes that affect world language speakers, such as immigration reform, health care and education. An America who once welcomed world language speakers to come to America looking for an education, career or opportunity are now re-thinking their intentions.

Influences

My influences of my personal view on politics and world views, lead me to my bias towards my research. I love to travel the world and often times do not say that I am from America. I have seen what our actions have done to other parts of the world and I feel those feelings contributed to my research bias. I located people who are close to my age range and who seemed to believe in the same things that I do. In doing my research I would come across different view points, but turn away from them. I think this could hinder my influence on my informants because I am only provided one point of view.
