  1. Miami- Despite what people say about Miami, it is thee most BEAUTIFUL & LIVELY City to me. Miami is a city within cities! Miami is basically a NATION of its own when you think about it. When people ask me where I'm from, I happily say "MIAMI", they reply "Oh Florida"......and I say "NO, MIAMI.......Cause we're a state by ourselves"!

  2. Bahamas- Being of Bahamian decent, I am extremely close to my culture. Being raised in Miami, mixed with being Bahamian, I love it! I love when I go home to the Bahamas, and really get in touch with the authentic experiences of my family and culture. There's no Island more Beautiful than the Bahamas to me. Just like Miami, the Bahamas is an Island made up of different Islands.

This could easily be mistaken for a place in Miami beach. I love life in Miami. I love that it feels nice and sunny like Haiti. I love that I still see beautiful coconut trees, like the ones pictured here on this Haitian beach. I miss the clear blue ocean where you can see the rocks as well as the sea creatures from the bottom of the ocean.

I miss the love unity and warmth I felt there with neighbors and friends. We ate together more lunches and dinners at the table and visited with family more as a routine after church services on Sundays. In the U.S , I feel more isolated, we eat together when our schedules allow, but I have fully adapted to living in the U.S. I love the beauty and the opportunities that I am blessed to experience. I can still bring some of Haiti with me and keep some of my traditions to keep my culture alive. Miami is for me!
